"Reject" option

Postby stuey » 24 Jun 2007, 15:00

Hi.
I'll make a suggestion. When I host a game, and someone tries to join in, it would be nice if we had a "Reject" option next to "Play" option. Also, it would be nice if that player gets a message "xxx has rejected your offer" or something like that.

That's because now we had to go back and create a new game when we don't want to play that person. And there are too many new or low ELO rated players who just don't understand when I (or someone else) do not want to play them.

Why don't you want to play newbies? I didn't expect this from you. Do you think your too high ELO or too good for them? I always play new players, it's a little experince for them. And with 6:0 my ELO stays the same but with 6:1 I lose some. Fortunatly it's always 6:0. 8-)

Why don't you want to play newbies?

Simply because I want to play interesting matches against someone equal to me so I can enjoy and learn something, there is nothing good and interesting in easy 6-0 victory...
If that cheers you up, go for it.

Newbies can play other newbies or someone closer to their ELO...

I'm not mentioning ELO because it's important to me, but to show the difference between players' strenght.

And if this is not a good reason, there should still be a "reject" option.

Newbies will always stay newbies if they don't play against best players.

I'll quote myself
Newbies can play other newbies or someone closer to their ELO...

If they play against best players, they'll just lose nerves and will to play TE

Aaand... you consider yourself one of the best? :P

Depends on what kind of person are you. Paris Hilton will always be a dissastrous player becouse of quiting on every lost service.

The best way ti improve your game is to play good experienced players and learn from them. That player player can also be the strongest CPU. I have never played TE against CPU that is not 'incredible'. At first it was 0:6 and I was happy with point or two.

My way - lose against better leads to win against equal.

That is the quickest way to the top.

Aaand... you consider yourself one of the best?

Yes.

Ok, that's your opinion. I respect that... Let them play CPUs then or somebody else. In fact, I played today against one completely new player, and one under 900 ELO rated player. Both of them left after couple of games without a point...

But this topic is actually another discussion. And I still think it would be very nice to have a "Reject" option ;)
