I did everything written in the manul but I can't play anyway; when I join a public game, it gives me the same error: "an error occurred, can't create connection"

I did everythink written here (this is my router)
http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... efault.htm

Still doesn't work

Any suggestion ?

Thank you

Hello,

this error is likely not related to a port opening/forwarding issue.
Check your network configuration, possibly update your network drivers, rebooting, etc..., may fix the issue.
Open your System.log and look for : "Error: connection to host '<NameOfHost>' failed (code = XX)" and tell me what number is "XX", maybe it'll give some hint at what's going on.

Thisi is it:

"Error: connection to host 'alsec' failed (code = DPNERR_NOCONNECTION)"

I've used a software (pfportchecker) to see whether my UDP 4321 port is forwarded correctly or not; the result is:

external ip: XXXX
ping result: we were not able to ping your router
port check result: you port is open on this computer

So the port should be fine; there's a problem then with my modem...I can't figure out which one :(

One more thing: I've tried it with the lan connection...same result :(

It's possibly an issue with your DirectX version. Try to install the latest version to fix the problem.
I don't think it's a problem with your router or port.

If you have an anti-virus, try to turn it off, especially if it scans the network or P2P traffic.

Tried it ! Still not working.....My router is unable to ping; that's most likely the problem

I'm using now my notebook from a different wireless connection and different router and according to test, this router is able to ping...so there should be nothing wrong with my firewall, anti-virus and other computer stuffs..it must be something wrong the modem-router I have at home

Hi Lucian,I had this problem before...( buyed a new wireless router)

Login to your provider online and add port 4321 there.
So you need to change it there and then it will work,

Grtz ,

What do you mean by that exactly ?
Usually I don't need to log in to my provider...it's an ADSL connection...it works automatically

Lucian it's the provider login(not for connection) with other information like personal settings and download limit, email etc.
You received this personal password login from your provider since the first internet installation.

Look somewhere for internet options and add this port 4321 like I did and it will work.

I think I accesed my provider settings but I can't add ports as you did..they only give me some technical instructions...there's nothing really to change :( Thanks anyway for the suggestion

Anyway, I managed to make my router ping, everything seemed to work but again, I can't make the connection
