How to host behind a router?

Postby Swissv2 » 13 Nov 2006, 01:19

When I try to create a game, the only IP it gives me is 192.168.0.xxx
I am on a home network.

When I disconnected my machine from the router, and connected it directly to the modem, that was the only time I was able to play online!

How can I host behind a router?

Hello,

from the doc here :
https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Ten ... ml#network

"If you are behind a NAT/Router and if you want to host a game, you'll have to forward the UDP port 4321; consult http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm if you need to know how to forward or open ports on your router : choose your router, then choose any game in the list (for example : Quake 3), it doesn't matter which one, just be sure to use the UDP port 4321 instead of what the game's listing says to use"

You can also look at your router documentation, if you have it.

I have the same problem as swissv2. I have forwarded port 4321 and disabled my firewall yet nobody can join my games.

Hello tennisman11,

is the connection test working ?
did u forward the UDP port, or the TCP one ? (it's the UDP port that needs to be forwarded)
