ridiculous counter mode in fair mode

Postby 1210967164 » 23 Mar 2015, 20:25

My opponent is capable of striking the 125km/h groundstroke consistently in the counter mode, which has a tiny restraint of stamina.Therefor, they are able to strike the aggressive groundstroke without any hesitation. They no longer need to slice or strike some top spin striking. That's not fair to the players who are using another mode and counter mode is a bug in fair mode actually! Contrary to the counter mode, the other mode such as power baseliner, puncher, defender have a stringent restriction of stamina. As a result,we have to utilize a couple of strategies against our opponents without exhausting our stamina.I hope you can strengthen the ability of another mode or at least weaken the counter mode,so as to mitigate the unjustness of TE online games

Hello,

counter style also got much slower accelerations when the incoming ball is not fast => https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Ten ... html#style ; he also has less effective short accelerations.

I don't think so.Their average striking speed is constantly 125km/h without any stamina restriction.sometimes, they may even strike a 135km/h winners, that's absurd.is there any weakness when a counter mode player is counteracting with the player using the other mode on baseline ?absolutely not !

I can't judge the way it''s going on regular fair/realistic modes. All i can say about it is, we have a counter @ ITST mod, Hewitt. He always being considered a good pick though not especially op, and not all people know how to move and position well to play shots early enough to get all benefits of this playstyle. Obviously he has very good returns, but if he doesn't earns ball speed from the opponent shots, then his rough accels are not on par with punchers or power baseliners ones. So in fact he is not a very popular pick, cause this needs some good skills to use him properly, thus, in good hands great results are definitely possible.

On our side, if there is an imbalance , it's the counter stamina management. On our setup (around 70 speed, +26 average stamina gap), Hewitt had to go for a +18 only (-8% stamina gap difference vs. punchers) to get things even enough, or he would outlast any other type of character on the long run. To me it means that, at "equal" stamina loss compared to other styles, the counter is technically, gameplay wise, shot produced wise, balanced enough, and doesn't needs a raw stamina advantage.

Our stats are specific, but my guess is this apect may translate to other stat modes.

Elias,
yup, in Fair & Realist modes, Counters can play with 100% speed & 90% stamina and still be comfortable with their energy. (it used to be worse than this, but I slightly raised the energy consumption of the Counter accel a few updates ago)

i am agreed with 1210967164. if you limit the number of counter style(or cancel) . the argumentation will be fixed. you know what. in china. almost 90%players are playing counter style. and they never use slice, dropshot or normal strikes. they strikes 1+2 forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have strategy: if the opponent has no stamina, they will take advantage of the game and easily let you run left and right .
i play the game for 2years. because i always think the game is the best game in tennis game.you can enjoy the real tennis.and i always encourage my friend to play this game and teach the new players how to play or update and so on.
pls take my advice and do sth in the next update. thanks.
I will be the best player and retire when i am the strongest in china

KerberLq,
yup, if I remove the main advantage of the Counter, no one will pick them up anymore, and it'll be alright... ;-)
1210967164 said they can do 135km/h acceleration ; this is same than other styles, except they can do that only on fast incoming balls. And if shoulder height bonus come into play, PB/Puncher/Varied styles can even do much faster accelerations.
Only 12% of the 50 top ELO players use the Counter style ; so it's under-picked as a normal percentage would be 16.6% ; I guess the only less picked style is volleyer (I didn't count, but I didn't see much of them in Top 50)
