ITST Mod vs. Unmodded TE2013 for online?

Hi there,

I've been playing this game for some time now. I wonder, why there are much more users playing online with the unmodded version vs. ITST Mod.

I played online always with ITST Mod till now and I intend to keep playing with this mode but I am always having trouble to find someone to play on the other side. When I go for network play and look for available games %90 (maybe more) of them are with unmodded version. I mean ITST mod has lots of players with their unique animations and still there seems not so much interest. Is there something I don't know about the unmodded game that makes it better than ITST mod?

Looking forward to for some feedback.

Thanks.

It depends the period, there is mostly always more vanilla (unmod) users than modded, online, but also you'll always find less
ITST Mod users during the off-season period. As the mod is backed with an online tour project, users are usually
less active during this period like the real atp ones.

Another aspect is that a good part of them use the ITST mod chat (you can find a link toward it in the game network menu)
to reach each other and play sparring/friendly matches, so basically only a few host a public game.
So i'll advise you to join this chat room and check/ask if there is someone willing to play, you'll have better chances this way
to meet some mod users on a regular basis. Still you have to be more patient, it's pretty calm these days,
we could notice the same drop of activity during the off-season previous years.

ITST mod is a bless. No cheating, no unfair players, all players have almost the same attributes.

I will never play unmoded tennis elbow again. So many scum players and cheaters.

ITST is for real players.

Thank you for taking time to reply. It's just that I see a lot people playing online but unfortunately with the unmodded version. That's the part I don't understand TBH. I mean ITST mod has much more variety with the anims etc. and still it doesn't receive that much attention. Whatever, I will take my chances to find ITST mod players :) Thanks again.

einmalen,
demo users can't Mod their game, so unmodded game will always be more popular.
Also, ITST is less newcomer friendly as it's harder to play it.
Unmodded game has already a good bunch of anims, and you can use them in any configuration possible where ITST has a limited set of combinations.
Ditto for the skills, in unmodded game, you can build your player exactly to your liking.
Lastly, there are more gameplay options when creating the hosting game, and thus it offers more freedom of choice to set up the game.
Anyway, at the end, it's a matter of taste, so if you prefer ITST Mod, go on with it...

manutoo,
you are right about why it is popular.
the problem with unmodded online is that there too many quitters. I think this is due to demo users. I can't increase my ELO because they generally quit.
on the other hand, people with high ELO never plays with me which is really frustrating because I know I can challenge some of them and maybe get a W but never really have that chance. :)
this is the main reason I want to play ITST.
I agree about the combinations but isn't it at least possible to add some animations from ITST or Sam's Mode to the unmodded version? I figure the number of animations in modded versions (ITST, Sam etc.) are much more than the unmodded one.
An update should do that I guess, but I don't know if that is possible. :)
By the way, let me thank you for this great game. We, users, are so lucky to experience something like this.

einmalen,
I already added the animations whose authors authorized me to include them in the game.

And welcome..! :)

Hello guys,
I don't know if i can ask it in this topic but : is there a minimum level to concur in the ITST mod ? I mean, it seems to gather "the cream of the crop", so is there something equivalent in the "career mode" ? Winning a Gran Slam in Incredible 1 ? Incredible 10 ? The goal isn't just to participate, but to have a chance of winning some matches.

Of course no minimal requirements.. but one would tell you that being able to compete with/beat pro-10 AI level (offline match using a roster character as opponent) is a good objective, to start futures/challengers in acceptable conditions (eg. having a chance to win one round).

Thanks for your reply :)
I'd defeated Nadal in the Australian Open and Roland Garros finals in master 1, and now I intend to win all four Grand Slams with Djokovic in Incredible 1. When i would have complete this, I'll be joining you on the ITST !!
