Longest Rally

Postby Togtdyalttai » 16 Feb 2009, 22:50

Tati cornet and I just had a 105-stroke rally. I wanted to make this thread for anyone to post what their longest rally online has been, especially if it is longer than ours. Rallies with the computer don't count. I have a screenshot of our rally if anyone doubts me. :P

Thanks Tog
Thats a blast..I mean..i know u r the second best this year and as i assume u have quite a strong hit...i dont realize how have you done that with Tati as i have played with him and he is damn good too...i just though that rallies between the best of the game arent suppose to last more than 15 shots but 105
Anyway i think it was a sick rally...i wish ya luck in Indian Wells and the upcoming Miami.
See ya :P

Thanks for your praises, Acid. I think the reasons for this extremely long rally were that he raised his topspin for that match, I usually play fairly defensively, and the match was on clay.

I had an 87 shot rally with a lower ranked player that decided to lob every shot, and I had 0% smash for that match. Finally got lucky hitting a topspin angle on the rise for a winner like I was Andre Agassi. That match was not fun.

Just had a 60 shot one with Feliciano Lopez. If I play him more, I'm sure we can get a lot higher with my annoying 49% topspin pusher.

I just had the strangest match. I was playing a J.Henin who was a very good player, but his stats didn't match up well against mine at all. His topspin was way too high, and so we had a ton of long rallies and I came out on the winning end of most of them. One of these stood out from the rest: at 4-0 40-0, there was a rally of 232 strokes. This rally lasted 5 minutes. Throughout this match, J.Henin paused the game and said the game was unfair and that our skill levels were so close to equal that he shouldn't be losing that bad. He got to be quite funny after awhile. Anyway, at 6-0 5-0, the game froze and so we had to quit. Take a look at the video if you want to see some clay-court grind-it-out TE tennis.

Longest rally conducive to migraine?

Postby Rene » 12 Apr 2009, 08:02

For crying out loud, how many times must our jaws drop at the ethereal athleticism of these transgenic hobbits who run down every single ball tirelessly, meanwhile adding that laughable topspin on it? It is embarrassing, to the point of being comedic. At the cost of being labeled a sadomasochist, I find striking resemblance between these long rallies and forcibly delayed orgasm. Spice it up with a little grunting every now and then, and we get http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACuqiobrjH8
