Cancel ELO penalty for laggy matches

Postby DumDum » 17 May 2014, 12:31

Its quite frustrating to play laggy matches...I had to continue because i dont want to lose elo to some idiot opponent who lags a lot. Please auto-cancel elo penalty for lag matches... like for lag ratio >10....I expect a reply from Manutoo

I don't know if people lag on purpose but I do agree that it's so annoying to play laggy matches and not wanting to quit because of loosing ELO
Fair play is the best play. Come on!!

DumDum,
that would encourage people to create lag to quit without penalty => bad idea...

Manutoo atleast disconnect the game if the lag ratio goes beyond >10 ...it's annoying for both players to play in those conditions. Yes, laggers might enjoy to get elo like that but if the game engine disconnects, atleast it wouldn't hurt the unlagged opponent because it won't lose elo

DumDum,
that wouldn't make sense either.
If there's too much lag, tell your opponent you want to stop to play & ask him to cancel your ELO penalty. If he doesn't give him bad reputation.
You can also check the network condition in the connection screen and during the 1st game.

Even quitting in 1st game gives me elo penalty....i mean seriously!? you think these laggers cancel penalty? All they do is give me bad reputation and also enjoy the elo they get when i quit. Added to this frustration, i get penalty which laggers love to not cancel. Well even if i give bad reputation---> i mean reputation is a joke, who cares really. I can give myself good reputation if i had two computers with both gaining reputation by trolling. However ELO is not like that, u will lose it if u gain on other computer. So ELO does matter more than reputation :fear:

On 1st game, you can quit without penalty except if you're being lead by 2 points or more ; in this case, you'll get a small penalty.

Yeah well but i am trying really hard to get to 3000 elo....i am at 2900 elo but these small penalties hurt....i have to win so many matches to get that small elo back....It's really hard for a demo player like me to get them because sometimes because of time out, i lose elo, which is ok for me...but losing elo when i had to play a lagged-up crazy match is really annoying. Also if i quit in middle of these matches i lose even more
