What ranking/stats, etc should I start off with?

I got the full version today. :D I tried out starting from Pro difficulty, ranked 1000, and stats at first from 5% each, and then I tried different games with 10 and 20%. I think all of these were a bit...long. TE2009 is really cool but I must admit I find it a bit draining playing those early matches where you hit and serve with no pace and lose 6-0 6-1 or something.

I want the experience of starting from 1000 as someone really young, and working my way up, but I also don't want it to be too long, as it was as I've first started. What stats and things would you recommend I start off with? :)

It's up to what you want to be (defender, volleyer, varied, etc.). If you want to be volleyer to have to choose to grew up stats of serve and volley, and at first you have to serve with top spin (ctrl + up) and take the net fast. If you want to be defender then you have to choose speed, stamina and grew up your forehand and backhand.

Hello Verdasco Fan,

1st, you can set all ur skills to 10% in average when starting on Pro, coz u have many training points to distribute.
2nd, whatever is your style, at 1st, once you'll have gathered more training points from your tournament matches, you'll want to raise your speed skill (aim for 30-40% at least) and make 1 strong rally strike (likely the FH, but it could be the BH if u prefer) to ~40%. After that, u should build the serve, and then up to u & ur style... :)
