Hello AB,

against defenders, you have to change your play style, especially on clay, and be more patient, and not use the acceleration shot all the time...
Also, do you have the latest version ? Since June, the max speed has been slightly lowered, which should help a bit against the defenders.

No its impossible to beat defenders. The amount of top spin is ridiculous and unrealistic. You're so far back that your opponent has too much time to prepare for your shot so rallies go on forever. You're so far back that you can't even see your own player! How is that fair?

I've learned to pass the ball a bit more now rather than go for winners everytime and I've made a few openeings. I have a tactic which is to wait until they play a short shot and then I play a drop shot and I rush towards the net It either forces an error or they set me up nicely for the winner

Although I agree with the above poster about the camera angle. If it was just that bit more further back there would'nt be a problem but some returns are pure luck because you cannot see your player.

Drop shots are difficult to do succesfully if your skills is anywhere under 80%, but otherwise a valuable stroke when the cpu is a player like Nadal, Ferrer or Davydenko. My advice is to rush up to the net as soon as you´ve hit the drop shot. Then be prepared for a volley! Mostly you can put it away pretty easily. This is a tactic I´ve used very succesfully against Federer. The better your dropshot is, the smaller the risk that they produce a lob.
The dropshot hit from behind the baseline is rarely a directly winning shot, even if your skills are at 100. You´ll need to put it right on the sideline, I´ve noticed. If so, the cpu sometimes just watches, apparently not even trying to catch it. Good luck! It is truly a great game, and I´ve played it so much that I can now win all slams in one year on level Incredible 1. I´d be happy to give tips about how to beat any of the top players.

I agree about the defenders, be patient is maybe the thing, but after 80-90 strokes they will eventually hit a winner.
I play master sub 1, and i always play defenders on pro sub 1.. this way it is possible for me to win once in a while against a defender..

Lol, some ppl here cant reach No.1 on Pro/Master? That's funny...Bah, I dominated the World Tour on Master Sub level 10 (No.1, won every match, every tourn, every slam xD), playing Incredible sub level 1 now, off to a great start with 22-4 record for now in futures/challengers But on incredible you'll struggle a lot unless you make nice stats at the start, hint put a lot of speed and take some of the 5% stuff off (at the start everything's like 5%, but put some stuff to 0% to get extra points for speed, you just need to be fast as hell)

Lol On "Pro", players who play the online tour can win with their eyes closed...Keep practicing

Dropshot winners are very very hard.

But I quite enjoy doing drop-volleys. Drop-volleys work like a charm on this game.

Ah, now I've dominated the Incredible Sub level 1 World Tour, playing my 2nd year without losing a match...So, I won everything I've entered xD Now, I'm going for the ultimate challenge: Incredible Sub level 10

As for beating defenders, if you're playing Tog/Vojatenis and some other people online, it's much harder...CPUs will give you a short ball here and there and you can either drop + charge the net + make an easy volley winner....or you can pepper the very corner when they give you a short ball, then they'll defend with a slice and you'll have a ton of time to destroy the next ball towards the other corner and such...for a clean winner...On World Tour I tend to build up my forehand first while keeping the backhand very low, and I boss my opponents around with huge forehands...also...in this 1.0d version, netplay is much easier, so whenever I charge the net I'm barely pasable, and I volley like a demon ...Against Federer on Incredible, he'll charge the net a ton and he's really difficult to pass when he's at net, but if you stay patient his game deteriorates at one point or the other and a few volley errors will creep in, and you'll also be able to pass him several times here and there and earn several breaks. As for Nadal, just stay back, defend all of his vicious off forehands, don't use many accelerations, wait for a shorter ball, attack the corners or play a drop...Similar for Davydenko, Ferrer etc. (the major pushers)...

P.S. Play the online tour if you've got a good connection. While World Tour is excellent, it is much more exciting and more challenging to play other people with different styles...and some people just defend like demons, and return outrageous stuff... Some other people just attack like demons and have flawless footwork, it's great fun to witness it all Laterz, hope this helps!
