Ok Now I confirm that the serv is horrible , I really hate it , now there are no rallies anymore , they all using power servs , it's annoying and it kills the fun of the game , I couldn't break some players that I used to beat 6-0
may be on clay it's good but It was à mon avis a big Error to change it , so pls Manu undo it
and conserning the Topspin , I am still thinking that it's too exagerated , there is no effect on the ball at all , now we should call it "assured shot" or smthing like that , it's not realistic at all
but all the rest is perfect .

Couple things after just intial 5 mins of playing with new version: Kick serve now kicks in the correct direction, good. BUT, the Nadal shot should be like it was in previous versions. It should continue the movement/momentum towards the side, because there is sidespin in addition to topspin. In the latest version, the Nadal shot curves in the air (like previous versions-good), but it just stops when it bounces. Actually it goes a very little bit in the opposite direction. It should continue the sideways movement after the bounce, I think. If not as much as it did in the previous version, but maybe to a lesser extent. But in the latest version, AFTER the bounce it kinda goes in incorrect opposite direction.

Awesome new animations! Though the motion of the new Sampras-style serve is a bit slow at the beginning of the wind-up. Maybe could be tweaked to be faster/more fluid in the future. But overall, GREAT new motions!

And now when pushing F2 to switch sides, it's instant! Great tweak!
Manu, You're done a fine job!
Ok, this is my initial feelings of just 5-10 min of playing, on to do more thorough testing...

EDIT: New animations are just a bit less fluid than original animations (other than serve, which is more noticeable less fluid at beginning of windup). And actually, I notice the new animations have less shot power than the original animations it seems?

I take back what I said about the serve. It's nice on clay, but on faster surfaces there's going to be way to many aces I think, like S.Williamz said. I can't say for sure, but if we're having like 10 aces/set on clay then that's gonna make about every other point an ace when we get to grass. :?

I'm starting to really like the topspin change...it's more balanced, plus I'm fast breaking out of the habit of charging the shot and now I'm just pressing before hitting, and atleast on clay there is decent time to get nice topspin.

I thing the only thing wrong with this update is the serve , TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO powerful
the rest is good , we can get used to it with time .
If u say that the service is at 80% , and with 80% we can serve at the speed of 215 or even 218 kmph , so if it was 100% , it would be 300kmph or even more
so pls do smthing with returns , and it would be preferable to let it at 60% , it was so good

another time I really like the new animations and the new options in general

Even though I hate the new faster serves, they make the game more realistic I feel. Because you look at the pros and at any time they can get on a serving run and with the stronger serves, it makes every break worth more.

Here's my idea: why not go halfway and put the serves at 70%? It does make sense to have them stronger than they were before, but I think they're too strong now.

That's a good idea. I also think a player should have only a certain number of point to spend on serve, like if want a serve with 80 power your consistency and precision would go down. Also Manu why can't people with the demo get to use to new animations?

I don't like the idea of only having a certain number of points for spending on your serve. If you put more points there, the rest of your game suffers, it's as simple as that. But with the current power, it's a no-brainer to put more points in that category.

I think showing the computer players' highest ranking in the world tour would be a good idea.

I haven't tried the new build yet. But I will and let you know what i think.

When I went to change my character's outfit in the world tour, I wasn't able to change the strokes. Can we only change the strokes when we start a new career?

you know its quite annoying that you miss balls that are about a millimetre to the right of ur racquet, but u are able to hit balls that are several feet above it how lovely. this is seeeeeeriously nippy

Some comments on the strike count.

It doesn't count the serve as a strike.
Could you make it where if we have the strike count on, it doesn't show as a stat after a point? If I already know the count, I would rather see another stat.

Not about the strike count.

Could you make it where it only shows the speed of a stroke if it is rather significant? Don't really care to know about the speed of drop shots and volleys.

Thanks! Keep up the good work! I might not even buy Virtua tennis 2009 or GS tennis when they come out cause I already have the best tennis game by far!

finally it's not so bad, and i think serena is right. yesterday i told him i had no power and i was with 1-2 in fr and bh. today i am 2-2 and i am not tsonga (i am small), but it's better.

but why did you suppress the topsppin for defender. i think defender is useless now, we are supposed to begin running faster it's it's not really different than puncher...

@About serve power at 80% :
Actually, I did a lil mistake and I didn't think it was 215km/h with 80% of power... :sweat:
I'll see how it goes, but I think I'll likely lower the limit to 70%. Give me all your feedback over the week about this point, especially when u'll play on grass.

@tati cornet :
no, this update doesn't change the drop shot nor the power.

And the defender still has the topspin bonus, I didn't remove anything specific to the defender style.

@Krisztian J. :
Were u in the menu when ur opponent gave up ? Did this problem occur again ? Did u loss 70 ELO points from Penalty ?

@Algo & adner :
U can change the number of games per set to restore faster a score.
For example, if u have 5-4 , then u use 6 - 4 = 2 games per set ; and then bring back the score to 1-0 instead of 5-4 .
(There's also the possibility to buy the game to remove the time limit... I know, crazy me :whistle: )

@Anton Dimitrov :
"- don't forget to exit TE2009 before to install the latest version"

@K Z :
I didn't remove the Topspin, I just removed the possibility to charge it before to run. 100% Topspin player shouldn't see much difference as long as they have a bit of time to prepare their strike.

@S.Williamz :
U crazy... ':D
But after verification, this time it's not ur imagination... :sweat:
I forgot to update the wingspan of the original FH & BH in the final version (the values in the code, not in the visual on screen), so now, there's a lil bonus to play with the new ones (it's ~10cm, so it's not a very big bonus, but already noticeable, i guess)...
I'll fix this for next update...

@Brad1981 :
The Twisted Kick Serve & the Nadal Shot both have the exact same spin : topspin + slice spin. Thus they should have the exact same bounce.

@Anton Dimitrov :
consistency & precision are already relative to power. ie: 70% in precision with 70% in power is more accurate than 70% in precision with 80% in power.

@jenks10s :
yup, u need to start a new career to change the strike styles, or use the "devmode = 1" in the Tennis.ini to change it at anytime.

>> It doesn't count the serve as a strike.
it's intended this way.
