Manu

I just watched some videos of Roddick's serve and actually he doesn't move his feet at all from the pinpoint stance...they're both together at the start of his motion...

Also, you should really speed up his swing upwards and through ball contact...he has probably the fastest and most violent serve motion in tennis...

If you could do these 2 things I think his serve would be PERFECT!! :applause: :bounce:

btaylor, u can see in this video (and all other ones I used to create his serve), that his feet are separated at 1st. His back foot will come forward only very late, when his racket is starting to go up to strike the ball. I think it's something very specific to Roddick as most players move their back foot forward earlier in their motion.

And I'll try to tune up the swing speed in the near future... :)

Hi Manu

Yes, I can see from your video that his legs are separate...but his right foot doesn't seem to actually move forward much at all...until he leaves the ground to strike the ball (like you said)

Actually, in the videos I was looking at, it seems he changed his foot position a bit over the years, as my videos seem to be of Roddick some time after he first came on the tour when he clearly used to keep both feet close together...(he was still wearing his visor instead of his usual baseball style cap... :P

So I guess I stand corrected...

Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to send you a screenshot of the video from the website (tennisone.com) that I subscribe to...It's a really cool website that only costs about $79 US for a whole year...It's got literally hundreds of quality videos (Much more than Fuzzy Yellow Balls) in real time as well as super-slow motion and from different angles...I think you would find it quite useful...

Do not insult our intelligence by asking who this backhand belongs to.
