- Maybe lowering backwards movement acceleration and/or speed a tiny bit so things like this

hey Manutoo, Can you try to implement under-arm serve? Cuz that is used by atp players in real life sometimes. There is no such serve in this game. Wud be fun if we too can use it. So can do it?

Yes Stiven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YoQboNhA54Indeed Manutoo, this a major problem in the game. A lot of people play like this.
Example 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAH1-mu5 ... e=youtu.beIts non sense to have people running back and forth instead of moving diagonally to defend.

Manutoo here you have the best example possible.
Two players playing this exact same game and kind of movement. Disgusting to watch to say the least.

I gotta agree with @Algo and @SPC.
What I find extremely strange is, when they're moving back they can still get to dropshots on time. I just don't understand this particular phenomenon.
Short accel doesn't help much either. This is only annoying when you're both at equal level.
If one or the other is better then this trick won't do much good.

I have several suggestions which could help to make the game much more realistic and also improve the behaviour and relations of and between the online players:
TL&DR, the game is great but changes on spin, serve, and online behaviour are needed.
Spin-related
1) If you have very little or close to zero topspin on your shots, it should be much more difficult to respond to sliced shots, be they short or deep. In real life it is nearly impossible to hit flat and rapid shots off slices, since the ball needs to travel over the net with an upwards ark.
2) There need to be separate categories for topspin and slice. I understand that the current system is designed for balance. But there can be and there are players who hit with a decent amount of spin and still have good slices, as are there flat hitters who can't hit a slice for their life.
3) Connected to the previous one, separate categories for spin on the forehand and backhand. No need for examples, we all know how many players have different spin attributes on their forehand and backhand.
Serve-related
The amount of players hitting risk serves on second serves and not making a double is too damn high! When hitting a 2nd serve players in real life will know that a double results in the loss of the point, which affects the mindset and body nerves. In the game this kind of effect could be achieved by increasing the danger and/or decreasing the probability of making a risk 2nd serve compared to serving like that on the 1st.
User-related
1)Each player should have a fixed nickname that can only be changed by the approval of the admin/owner of the game, or a moderator/moderators empowered by the admin. This would also enable the admin/moderators to keep an eye on and react adequately to players of unsportsmanslike conduct or those involved in direct or indirect gamesmanship. That means that it is much more likely to get rid of bad and/or cheating players and also to prevent their comeback under a new alias. This will also mean more trust and amicable relations between the players, since you'd more easily recognise and remember previous players. Will benefit the game community.
2) In the game menu, or perhaps more specifically, in the online menu, a quick link to some sort of sportsmanship guide. There's currently a link to documentation and it partially covers the do's and don't's of tennis but a quicker and more specific link would be even better. The contents could be agreed on democratically through this forum or simply chosen by a select few users. I volunteer myself, if this idea is heard of.

MUST HAVE function : Save the game from the before match menu in world tour. When i played a tournament and im out and next tournament is F.E indian wells i have to play. It should be possible to save the game when you can press the button to directly play the game. IN the window where it shows the stats of your opponent. That function is an absolutely must have. I hate it that i always have to fucking escape the game when im in this window -.-
edit: well sorry for the style and used words of the suggestion. If you play only one world tour you can resume play when you left the game just before the match. But if this is not the case you cant.
Hope you get my point.
sorry for wrong thread !

I agree with the serve related stuff, its so damn ridiculous to get 217mph second serves in in a consistent basis.
End-User related not so much, the online nick is ok, plus you will get tracked by your Nick+ELO. So no needs to be that hard on the nickname change.

Hi i am new here and first of all i have to say that this game is better than TopSpin 5. With Mods i ve see on Youtube its amazing realistic. After playing the demo for a couple of hours online i note some unrealistic stuffs:
1. Serves are way too easy. It has to be more difficult. Its always like you have to guess where the ball goes: Like a goalie before a penalty shoot.
2. Movement should look like in TopSpin 5. (for example: On Tenniselbow Volleys looks bad)
3. Forehands + Backhands to easy too.
All in all its a nice simulation with some weaknesses. With your low budget u have an amazing game though.

That's because you're playing pure online game where everyone can make their player too powerful. I'm sure you might be having desyncs as well. Try ITST 1.15 MOD. It's the best mod for online and tournaments. For offline Sam Megapatch 2013 is the best.

two improvements for next versions would be great:
- Slices are kind of useless. The only utility of a slice shot right now is that you have time to take back position in the middle of the court after a great defence that forced you to run into the left or right corner, but your opponent can play a winner out of a slice way too easily. In real tennis a good low slice is a great shot not only because it gives you time to come back in position, but even (and most of all) because it won't let your opponent play an aggressive shot, no wonder in real tennis a lot of slice are returned with "another" slice. If the ball bounces very low it should be very hard (if not impossible) to hit a flat crosscourt winner on the line from the opposite corner. In TE this happens way too often and in Online matches especially everytime you hit a slice you know for sure that you are gonna take a winner (if not 100% of cases at least 75-80%).
- It is too easy to hit a flat shot when the ball is very close to the net. In real tennis a short ball close to the net suddenly in the middle of the rally is the worst shot that you could face because it forces you to run forward and if you play too flat (which means very fast but very low) the ball most of the times will die into the net (especially when you go down the line where the net is higher). In TE even if the ball is very close to the net you can still hit a flat winner down-the-line as long as you reach the ball and this makes a short sliced ball in the middle of the court kind of useless most of times. If I play a good low ball (because i wanted to or even just because i was lucky) I should be in a very good position in the rally as my opponent should be able only to play an offensive slice or a topspin shot to pass the net. But instead right now if I play a short ball and my opponent reaches it in time I know that I'm done because he's gonna hit a flat shot that will pass 1 mm over the net (even if there was no space at all) and he's gonna get me.
