Grunts: only accelerated service and groundstrokes option.
Nobody grunts in a sliced serve I think.

Maybe an option to auto change the style of the cpu during matches, for example if the cpu start playing like a volleyer, then switch to powerbaseliner if the match isn't going well (Federer style ;-)) and so on. I think it would be very interesting!!

Nicole Vaidisova,
I don't know what's the problem.
There are a lot of comments about this problem in sam's patch and dilima mod.
Manutoo,
I don't think that Dilima's patch is old. is it a bug ?
I'm not using Dilima's mod or sam's patch, but it's strange, only for wimbledon :blackeye:
I will try in my mod, i didn't try yet
But sam's patch isn't an old one, it's the top mod.

Would like to see a toggle for no assists at all (no auto-things, pos or back), except for some medium auto-pos for like 1,5 sec after the first impact (serve).
A pure skill based movement and positionning game option with total movement freedom, i mean offline, and online.

Lower short players speed bonus or make their shots less powered.

Elias,
I just checked and with 0 auto-positioning, the precision of placement is in best case from 10-20cm to 30-40cm (depending of the time you can put in your positioning) ; and it can get much worse depending of the situation (main example : a very crossed ball, where it's hard to see where the ball impact will actually occur).
And the sweet spot zone is ... 5cm wide ! So it's just impossible to play correctly the game without auto-positioning. I even tried with halved slow auto-position speed and the precision of positioning was already problematic in some cases.
To play without any auto-positioning, it should have another button to tell we want to do small footsteps instead of running, and we would probably not have enough time to position ourself on opponent's fast ball anyway.

OK Manu, i believe you. Always felt using the lower autopos that this improved movement so logically thought it would be better without any.
It's probably tied to other TE stroke mechanics then, though we can mod the sweetspot, i wish i could play with auto-pos values via modding to
test some values myself. About the Autostep-back it seems causing less trouble in the last build. I didn't tested very long yet, though, if i coulnd't see
any awkward moves, i still felt some sort of unpleasant "magnet" feeling when moving during the rallyes. will probably test this further online in the next days.

Hi :) I'm new to this forum, but I'm not new to tennis games. :) Here are my thoughts about an idea I have for an update, I don't know where the limits go with suggestions. So I might as well go big right away ;)
Remember though, these are just thoughts I have and it would be interesting to discuss it if it's possible to achieve at all. :)

I think a defensive slice would be a great addition to the game. A new shot to the game, assigned to a seperate button/direction, and with a special anim for it too.

Here a video of the shot I'm thinking about.
At these times during this video, the shot is made. Some effective and some less effective: 2.55, 4.14, 6.30, 6.49, 9.05, 10.06, 10.09.

Youtube: watch?v=UR7N-zefV2E (couldn't add a link, due to "new member" restrictions)

My thought is that this shot has to be a last effort shot. A shot that has a wider reach than the normal slice(not too wide ofc), but uses much stamina(to not be exploited). Maybe use even more stamina than accelerations, just to prevent misuse and everlasting rallies. (This would also add a tactical choice to not go for such a shot in some situations, because of the stamina drain). At the widest, the effectiveness is greatly reduced, just getting a high, short and easy putaway for your opponent or it just goes out. Also making the reach or/and effectiveness considerably lowered when stamina gets drained lower.

In the video-examples I've shown, some of these are effective, while some are just a "postpone" to the inevitable. Why would I want such a shot? Here are five quick reasons

1. If you have a lot of stamina, you can reach some more difficult balls.
2. This would be useful to attempt to "safe"-return a serve. (Getting the return high, slow and deep)
3. Would be really nice against a big server, to at least return more often(and would also not be too easy to return, because when stamina is drained, you can't return effectively with the shot).
4. Would be very interesting in rallies. Keeping rallies alive and forcing some epic overheads etc.
5. An appropriate animation to the shot would look awesome! ;)

Couple minor things: 1) I think the umbrellas clutter the screen. And they are never up during play in the first place. Is there a way to remove just the umbrellas? 2) Ability to remove the dot that shows where the ball lands. This is not the preview, but rather just the tiny gray dot that shows and disappears after a second.

Brad1981,
you can do both of that yourself by Modding the game.

it would be very fun and more realistic to have some sort of odd bounces on clay which forces you back more or to risk hitting out :)
