Hey manu, i wondered if it isn't possible for you to implement a bit more history to the world tour. for example if you start your career in 2006, the past winners and the head to heads of the players is like what it was from when their career started until 2006, using the ATP database? I just think it would make things a bit more realistic, because no one starts their career with no past winners and no head to heads of any players. Excuse my bad english please?

A note:

There might be a slight imbalance between the various player styles in favor of the powerbaseliners. In realtime cpu vs cpu top ten powerbaseliner almost always win and volleyers still seem slightly disadvantaged, making more unforced errors than the other playing styles. Not sure how much cpu vs cpu says about balances, though.

lreese,
in what level did you check that..?
Anyway, it seems about what is commonly reported (except Defenders should be the hardest on clay), it's pretty hard to have all of them perfectly balanced... ;)

Pro 10. Pinning a higly ranked volleyer against a highly ranked powerbaseliner requires the latter to play at a sublevel down. Then the match is even and the winner uncertain. I think that goes for all surfaces, excpet maybe grass. Although as you said the 100% topspinners are toughest on clay.

Intertingly, if you put clay court surface speed to -0.5 volleyers can actually win sometimes against high topspin defenders since the volleyer will start to serve and volley. This actually pretty realistic. Edberg had a good record agaist the spanish clay courters of his time, even on clay, since they couldn't return his serve down on his feet with all that topspin.

Make CPU players hit slice a lot more often. They only ever use it from a defensive position, rather than on the base line. Almost every player includes slice from any position (Rafa, Roger (especially), Murray, Djokovic). Will there be a major update for the Australian Open?

X-mas wish list :-) (even if it's for Xmas 2012)
- a futile wish: for replay, a camera angle like the third person camera, but facing the player.
- futile wish Nr. 2: female T-shirts that would be as easy to mod as the men's ... Like Brialy said in Bunuel's Fantôme de la Liberté http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONxMQ0_T6Ho&feature=related (at 2'00)
- serious wish: a trick to be able to save our player's skills, ranking and recent history for a new version of the game. Even if we have to enter the previous year's results manually. I mean, it's a shame we have to lose our player and hours of game - TE is a simulation game after all! when the game is updated.
- someone suggested it already: not to have to quit the game just to pause a match. For instance: I start a WT match on automatic mode, then realise the computer is letting my player play foolishly, and I have to take control of it again.

Merry Christmas all!

Manu, I tried adding some new grunts into the game. i added a 6th one in and when testing that one for sound (grunt no.6), it wouldn't work... but replacing one of the 5 already in the game with the custom grunt(s) worked fine.
We could use an option to add in more grunts (and have them actually work).

Guest,
it'll have an update soon, probably not too big, though. (except maybe for online mode)

Brecht,
the saved games are compatible for all 2011 versions (ie: u can load a v1.0 saved game with v1.0c). Only TE2009 saved games aren't compatible.

Maria Sharapova,
it's already working... So you should post about this in the Modding subforum.

I agree with Brecht's first replay suggestion about the camera facing the player! An i suggest some of the replays be automatic (for the best points)

Hi Manu, I know ... I'm just thinking about the more or less near future, and/or about the tiny (or big!) changes we can make that invalidate the saved game. I mean, I don't care if I lose my whole history or my opponents'. But I would like to know that I'm able to start a new career with a character, let's say aged 22, ranked 41, whose last year on tour can be copied-pasted (I guess it's impossible) or manually entered, in order to have the corresponding ranking throughout the year. Tiny change example: to add the third round in the Grand Slam qualifiying rounds of women :P ; big change example: to create a new world tour calendar  .

it seems to me that for the next version, it is essential that the time at we create a player in the "World Tour", we can choose what age we want to start the game (example: Start with 23 years of age), instead of game it force us to start with 17 years old.

Brecht,
I guess I could let you export then re-import your player with his/her skills, outfit, age, ranking & current date. I'll try to do that for next big change, but that won't happen right away...

Thanks Manu! No hurry, I'm fine now, but since everyone is wishing a TE2013 ... or 2014 ... ;)

BTW, if you make a small update, could you remember my old wish about gruntings? the option of no grunt on serve but on some shots after (the tough ones). Thanks!

I think live scores from other matches would be really cool but maybe its to hard to do but at least set results from other matches when you finnish a set perhaps
Also match statistics from other matches when you click on the match would be amazing
hopefully you could give it a shot :D

- slower game speed ( shots are to fast - at least 20% slower...sometimes game look like FPS and not sport simulation )
- new animations on net ( current animations are really bad )
- to many aces in match ( how can be realistic to hit 30-40 aces in one match? And that was in 3 sets match!!! ) ...please make serving aces harder
