up:
-Independence between World Tour settings and the rest of the game, specifically games per set, I've hosted a couple of matches in the last days with 3 games per set and we've had to start all over again, because I play like that in World Tour as I've no patience to play longer matches against cpu, but I wouldn't want that specific setting to be there when I want to play online

And could you have a button specifically for the Nadal shot? (When using CtrlExtraButton in the .ini)

the nadal shot, is the shot with the motion over his head right?:O
that would be awesome because for example federer uses the nadal shot and his own shot in a rally sometimes:O
it would make the game even more realistic if you could have 2 styles for for and backhand!

I think he meant the B1+up+down Nadal shot, not the Nadal-animation shot, although it'd be definitely great if we could have 2 different forehand or backhand shots

Ooh i don't understand the difference between those two shots then;p
but yeah 2 animations for a forehand and backhand would be awesome, i would like to see that, it shouldn't be the hardest thing to make i think:O i hope some people in this forum agree, maybe Manu will be doing it then:O
just an opinion ofcourse..

Hi Manu

Just wondering...is there a way for you to have the animes bend their knees a bit more (especially on the faster surfaces where the ball bounce is low) in order to better "center" the strings onto the ball?

When I'm playing on clay, with the higher ball bounces, it's much easier to center the strings on the ball since the animes are more or less standing upright during the strike...

I don't know, maybe the problem I'm having is that I don't like to play with the "helper" and since getting a "pure" ball strike is really predicated on centering the ball onto the racket, maybe having the player bend more may help...

When I view the playback in a grass or hardcourt match and reverse the court so that my player is on the far end, even though I'm striking the ball solidly, fully half the time my player's racket is not actually touching the ball...not so on the clay court where the contact is mostly perfect... 8-)

It seems that even with the "auto-adjust" thingy that even though it does help to place your player at the "proper" distance from the ball, it doesn't visually help to lower the player to the ball on fast, low surfaces like grass or hardcourt...

If the animes could bend their legs more in general, one could always position your player properly to contact a higher bouncing ball as well as the lower bouncing ball...

In real pro tennis, on the right-handed forehand, for example, the players really load up on their right leg in almost a crouch position as they prepare to launch into the ball...

Even if you can't do this, what you have accomplished so far in the players' movements is superb...these are just observations that maybe you could consider...

As I already posted in this thread, It'd be amazing to be able to set top spin on back hand and forehand seperately. Then we could have a topspin forehand with a flat backhand, like Roddick or Murray. Also would love the idea of different wristband colours for each arm.

Manu, would it be possible to create a separate parameter in the .ini to allow the player to hit shots that are falling (after the bounce), WITHOUT a reduction in power? Also, as I move closer between baseline and net, I can't hit with good power on groundstroke shots. I really would like if you could create a setting to be able to modify this, for play with CPU of course. It's something like the SweetSpotRadius setting, but different (only dealing with falling shots after the bounce, and shots close to the body when the player is at midcourt), and would require a separate parameter apart from this.

Just thought of something else: Many people, including me, would like to see a way to practice serve in Training Club warmup. Maybe u can create a setting that lets the same person serve continuously in a Training Club match, without alternating after each game (or point in a tiebreak).

Brad1981, just lower the BallDiffScale of your player in the Tennis.ini .

btaylor, yup, I already thought about this, but it'd require to do many more animations, so it's too much work.

PS: I read all suggestions here, but don't answer about all... :fear:

Manu, I lowered it to 0, but it doesn't change anything about the power of hitting when the ball is falling or about hitting groundstrokes when the ball is close to the body when at midcourt/net area.

Brad1981, when the ball is too low is physically impossible to hit the ball hard & keep it in the court (coz of the net in the middle ;) ).
For the ball being close of the body, try SweetSpotRadius to 100 or something like that.

I tried setting it to 100 and then to 300, but no luck. About the falling shot: it doesn't have to even get that low, but if I am a bit inside the baseline, this is when I have a problem with it. It kind of turns into a non-accelerated slow shot (with a bit more pace). I wish it would have more pace. It's kind of hard to describe. In TE2006, it was good. Maybe these two factors are related?: The falling shot and shots too close to the body. I think it should only be difficult to hit (i.e. resulting in less pace) only when the ball is about and inch or two from the bottom of the ground. But it seems that if the ball is higher than that, if it is falling, and if my player is inside the baseline, no matter what, there is reduction in power in the resulting shot (as evidenced by the audio also). But I see pros blocking back shots close to the body and have fairly decent pace on the shot; but in the game, it results in more of a non-accelerated slow shot type, even though I use an acceleration shot, or even normal shot. Just wish there was a separate setting to modify for this for non-online play at least.

Hey Manu, I really love the new slice backhand animation. It's cool.

But I also liked the old one too. I'm just wondering if maybe you'd consider adding being able to choose between the two in the next update.

someone asked this question before aswell but dont know if it was ignored or what but i think this would make the game fantastic if u added feature to see all matches i know it would be hard manutoo but u can do it with some help i think xD
