Togtdyalttai, I thought about this long time ago, but actually, it's easier & better for me to have just 1 court... :)

btaylor, no I didn't give up on the new anims, but I have been a bit overwhelmed with other stuff in the past 3 months...

Here a little roadmap for TE2009 :

Mid-March : TE2009 Mac OSX
April : holidays :p (which include 1 or 2 hours everyday of customer service :coffee: )
End of May : 1 new set of anim (and the menus to select them :? ) ; whole match replay
And after : more anims, maybe up to 5 sets
2010 : 3D courts (..?)

And of course, many other little things meanwhile, depending of people request, even the ones from Brad1981 that I don't always answer... ;)

Here are two suggestions:

1. Ball-wear effects. As the ball gets hit, the ball action is affected as in real tennis, and after a certain number of games, a new ball is introduced.

2. Ball-fuzz visual effects when the ball is striken (maybe just on power shots, serves, or on replay?). This may not be worth whatever demands it may put on a system, but it is just an idea.

Manu..... Some of these have been mentioned before:
1) Option to have longer shorts for the men (to the knee)
2) " " " " longer wristbands
3) slightly smaller kerchief/tie on headband
4) conventional tennis shirts for the men, i.e. button to the chest (the women have these)
5) different hairstyles for the men

Hey man! thanks for the reply, but my 1st suggestion wasn't totally answered: what about planning the season, as we can do on TEM? It would be great to plan which tournaments to play 2 or 3 weeks before starting.

Today I'll suggest 2 things for Davis Cup:
1) Choice of the Surface when the country that we play for is the host country;
2) The Captain of Team eventually could call the best players in the epoque of the battle, not only for the ranks, but also if the player's campaign of last weeks is good or even if the player is better in some surface than another one better ranked than him.

And one suggestion that maybe will change lots of things in the game: change the name, the type and the points of ATP Tour: Series 1000, 500 and 250.

Thanks Manu, the game is fantastic!

Manu,

Not to beat a dead horse, but the forehand stroke with the laid-back wrist and CLOSED racquet face that I was alluding to is on display right in the TE game...

On the "Training Club" screen, the top middle button contains a picture perfectly illustrating the laid-back wrist and closed racquet face, just after the conclusion of the backswing, as the forearm comes forward into the strike position...

THIS is a PERFECT example of the "business" segment of today's topspin forehand drive...just thought I'd point that out...

Maybe for TE2010, you can have a player fatigue through a point and/or match. I think that the more you run your opponent (and vice versa), the player doing more of the running (unless it's Nadal), should be penalized and therefore have less energy, speed either throughout a point and/or throughout the match.
And I don't know if it affects anyone else, but I think the non-accelerated version of the short strike is too slow, especially from around the baseline. This is one shot that I rarely hit because it gives the opponent (CPU) so much time to prepare and crush the ball. Wonder what others think...
I really hope some of these recent suggestions can be implemented  Really enjoyable game.

Just to tell u something Brad, if there is a 2010 TE, it won't have a lot of differences than the 2009, the major evolution was 2006-2009 but yes i guess ur suggestion is realistic....

I feel that way also about the non-accelerated short strike, Brad...

It also still seems (to me, at least) that the slice shot is dealt with FAR too severely by the CPU...I feel you should better be able to use it as a NEUTRALIZING shot...to buy time, or to throw off the opponent's rythym/timing. As it is now, you virtually concede the upper hand in a rally because the CPU, rather than having to play it safe off of a deep slice, simply whacks the tar out of the ball for a clean winner, or either it's "off to the races" for you... :?

Perhaps there won't be another "major evolution" in TE10, but Manu never ceases to amaze and surprise us through his many tweaks, bug fixes, updates and such...so you never know, TTennisfan...

For example, he already has expressed a serious interest in implementing 3D courts for the future... :bounce:
Who knows, by the time he responds to and implements many of our suggestions (those that seem most viable, sensible, and do-able) maybe it WILL equate to another major evolution...

I suggest that the male players can also have a height 155-169 cm...maybe not realistic but still better than not being able to be that height as a male player, and this is because height affects your game and that is why I think it's important to have it...lol

lol 155-169 cm it calls midget, and I don't think that we need midget in TE 169 cm is way too small....

Yeah, but since I want to be below 170 cm right now for tactical reasons, I am forced to be a woman player, which is fine, however I would still like to be able to choose the sex at these heights! lol

If we are talking about height, I guess the maximum in game is 200cm, and in ATP we have, for example, Karlovic, Guccione, Isner and maybe others with almost 210cm. And shorter than 170cm I know only the Rochus' brothers.

So I think 165 - 210 for male and 155 - 195 for women the most realistic possible *in my opinion, of course.

Brazilian Regards!

Hey everyone! Hope I'm not disturbing you.
There's another topic about the best players eventually don't enter in a Slam.

It would be excellent the possibility of improve the "Week News" with the reasons of the abstence of the event and/or the retire of a player during a match.

I.e: I was playing in Wimbledon and Federer retired in 3rd Round, when he was beating Fernando Verdasco 7/6, 6/7 5/2 and them he retired. What happened to him? :( LOL!

Brazilian Regards!

CC,
1- not possible due to engine limitation
2- TE2009 is not an arcade game ;)

gump83,
no, no planning in TE2009, there's no need for it. It's not a manager game.

Brad1981,
I'll likely do some tries for player's real time fatigue, but not sure when, likely in a long time...

Short strike speed will be tuned a bit with next update

S.Williamz,
no, no change for size limit
(CPU players in World Tour don't have limits)
