Mana Games

Could it be possible to have a line challenge system and fallible line judges in this great game ? That is one major realism aspect that is still missing from this game.

Why not ? I think it would be a great realism addon. It could be made selectable too so it wouldn't bother those who do not want it.

maybe it'll come with TE4 (in 2016) ; in term of atmosphere, it's nice, but in term of gameplay it's kinda bad, as it's pretty frustrating to waste your challenges, be left with none, and witness some obvious call mistakes that you can't do anything about after on.
The main problem is that in real life, you see much better if the ball touches the line or not than on your screen, plus when you hit the ball with your racket, just with the feelings in your body, very often you know if it'll be fault or not. So in-game you have much less clues to do a smart call.

Exactly! And if you are playing offline in the career mode, the same thing happens to the computer player. The game becomes silly then. I am sure tho Manutoo, that you'd make the challenges more realistic If you decide to implement them? Unlike the crap tennis games i have played before with those challenges in place..

However, it doesn't bother me if you do or if you don't have them in, as this tennis game is on a different level to the previous tennis games i have ever played
I am sure that TE4, will be 'Shit Hot' with or without the challenges

And yup, I'd likely find a way to make challenges a bit more interesting than the simple implementation you may see in other games.

That's a really good point about not being able to see the ball properly. I guess it would be kind of cool though. If you were thinking about implementing it I guess you could make the option to have challenge system turned on or off. The 2016 update sounds very exciting can't wait

Frustrating ? It is real part of tennis, better not to waste one's challenges. Game tennis is game tennis and real is real but i find these excuses absurd since every player is in command of their own challenges in both real and game tennis.

Silly ? What silly is in tennis ? This feature is integral part of tennis rules, what is so silly in it ? I really don't understand this line of thinking.

Plus, it could be made optional although i would definitely make it mandatory just like all other integral rules of the game already are.

From my experience of playing computer tennis games with the system in place, the game becomes silly, for the reasons Manutoo and I, have pointed out in our above posts. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12982&p=150778&hilit=challenges#p150778

I re-do in slow motion : in game, you see the ball way less well than in real life + you don't feel it at all, so you don't have the same tools than in real life to do a smart call => thus it's unrealistic, and people will be much more likely to waste their challenges than in real life.

It is a tennis game, there are not any "same tools" as in real tennis. No real visibility, no real bats, no real court and no real running. See how ridiculous your claim is ? Then why have a energy meter since there is no real running either ? People might just waste their energy more than in real life.

Plus you could always make it optional for those with working eyes and love for tennis as it is to enjoy but no... In a tennis game there can't be a integral rule of tennis because it is a game. I'm not sure what question I refused to answer. What I see in this topic is that I already answered your question, and twice, as you didn't want to understand the 1st time.

And no, challenges are not an integral part of tennis. They are an optional part. They only exist on main courts of big tournaments. Everywhere else, the tennis rules are still applied, but there's no hawk-eye.

And if you were able to understand English, you'd have already gotten that the reason (super slow motion engaged) is that challenges in-game would be pretty fast frustrating, as it's a bad gameplay mechanism, and putting bad gameplay mechanisms in a game is a bad idea.
My goal is not to put stuff in game that most people will turn off after a couple of hours. My goal is to make the game fun... Crazy, huh ?

Reiska, because you don't like what is said about the problems of having the challenge system in this game, there's no need to act like a twat! As far as i'm aware? Manutoo, might even consider having it in the game for TE4. But as we have suggested, there are problems by having it in a computer game.

You don't seem to be able to grasp the situation? Even though we have both tried to explain the reasons why, two times each to you that by having the challenges in the game could become problematic. So by you having a lack of brain cells to understand our points doesn't help us!
