Audio dropouts on Mac Mini

I've had this game for a long time, but I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do and find most of the posts way over my head. I'm jealous that so many of you are deep into this game, but it'd be great to see a Tennis Elbow for Dummies. I'm a technical trainer, but this is outside my realm.

My immediate issue is that sometimes I use a Mac mini with a monitor and a mini-speaker. When I have my Macbook Air, everything's perfect. But with my Mac mini, I'm getting audio dropouts on the crowd applause. I use Training Club only because I haven't figured out the little details of World Tour. So sometimes I hear applause, and sometimes it's silent even when I see the crowd clapping.

My audio line runs out of my Mac mini into a single, compact sound box. Other stereo outputs to this box work fine. So before I suspect the box and buy two independent, L-R speakers, I'd like to know if there are other things I should troubleshoot. I didn't see any previous posts about this particular problem.

Thanks for your help.

Add: Just borrowed a neighbor's audio system, a center box/subwoofer with left and right speakers. I have the same problem. I can tell it's not working when I launch the game and don't hear the familiar "bloop" when choosing options.

Now I suspect some incompatibility with the Mac Mini. Any ideas?

Additional info: Checked sound settings and all that, reset PRAM, etc., tested different settings in the game, no change. And there's no pattern to when the crowd noise drops out - long rallies, short rallies, etc. I either hear them or I don't. The video and court play sound are constant. It's only the crowd sounds that come in and out.

Hello,

did you install a Mod ? If yes, then your issues likely come from that.
Else, do you have the AppStore or ManaGames.com version ?
If the AppStore, read here, maybe it could help => topic29-15863.php .
Else, I have really no idea what could be wrong, especially if sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't... It could be an issue with the audio drivers of your Mac Mini or something like that.

no, i haven't graduated to mods. i keep reading the forums, and you guys are having so much fun, i wish i knew how to do half of what you're doing. i'm stuck, though happily, in training and could use more documentation. anyway, i do think it's something about the mac mini because the sound is fine on my macbook air.

if anyone has a clue about this issue, please post. i've tried different audio settings on the mini, but no luck so far.

play on!
