make game speed faster

Hi
Is there any way to make ball speed faster (in general) ? I'm not talking about game FPS (I'm on i7 4.2Ghz with Gforce 780TI) or modifying stroke power..., I'm taking about game ball speed in general. Any way to tweak it by modifying tennis.ini or something ? Perhaps just my impression, but shots seems to be slow compared to reality.
(I'm using last ITST patch)

Where the courts are Marty in the data folder, there's a court international. Which will show something like this..

Friction = 0.57 //0.58
Elasticity = 0.84 //0.61
MaxSkidAngleRatio= 0.30
SkidAngleRatioBase= 0.20
SkidSound = 1
SurfaceSpeed = -0.25

Just mess about with the surface speed numbers until you are happy! From what i remember though, the data courts folder in the ITST Mod were always in a pak file somewhere :thinking: So you'll need to go into the pak- 3 or even 4 (If there's one?) to find them http://www.fileplanet.com/50620/50000/fileinfo/PakScape

This is not helping much :P I also do feel that some of the powerful shots are way too slow :P

marty2756,
average strike speed in TE is probably slightly higher than in real life (mostly coz players do more accelerations than in real life).
There's no way to change the strikes' power ; you can change the court physics though, but it might be hard to achieve what you'd like.
But run acceleration (and change of direction) is much faster than in real life, thus the feeling some shots might not go as fast ; that, you can change in Tennis.ini => SpeedConversion ( more info here : topic15-15453.php )

ComeonANDY!!,
"SurfaceSpeed" doesn't change anything for the physics ; it's just there to tell the CPU what kind of surface it is so it'll adapt its game for it.

OK Manutoo :love9: If he messes around with the court physics tho, he might be able to achieve what he wants.

The best way to not feel that lack of power, is to get 60 fps constantly ;)
To do so : avoid alt tab when in game, reboot the game / computer, kill the processes that eat virtual memory even if you have a great computer (google chrome/internet explorer). You'll see a real difference between 59,9 fps and 60 fps : shots more powerful, a ball which stops "floating" for instance.

Hello,

I'm surprised, because, with a i5 (quad core; 3.3Ghz), a GTX GPU and very few processes in action, i never get 60 FPS as a constant value. It quickly oscillates between 56 and 62 (sometimes between 59 and 75). Thus it mostly does 59 on average. And the game runs very well, but i want to know if, although i play with a full HD resolution, there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between 59 and 60 to feel more power in the game. :unsure: And must FPS values be constant to get it?

Mac'n'Roll,
if the display is smooth (ie: the ball isn't stuttering), then don't care too much about FPS as long as it's around 60. There are several reasons the counter can't be stuck to 60 (1st one is that modern CPUs have a spread spectrum functionality that slightly change their speed, thus slightly messing up the time reporting used by TE engine).

If the display isn't smooth, then read about TimePolling here : topic5-16488.php .

Andy, Manutoo, thanks for the reply.
Will try tweaking tennis.ini

ManuTOO,
The game runs very well. :yes: The display is smooth. I had just a doubt about what C4iLLL had said (a slight difference between two FPS values could generate more power felt in the game).
Thanks a lot for your reply. :thumbleft:
