because he always does it...
For example, if u miss the ball by 10cm, it's interesting to see it, even if there was no time at all to run this 10 more cm...
But maybe I should make it not strike the ball, when it's really too far, something like 1 meter or so...
It looks more good I guess...

On the pic u posted, ur player was very close, and he may had the chance to reach the ball in time... I think u missed it for less than 10cm..! ;)

might be close, but i think that because the body positioning it was impossible to be hit, also, where is the racket handle?, its like hand-air-racket :P

Could you make it so that in arcade mode, the computer doesn't make so many errors? Even at Level 0, there is a high error rate by the computer. :?
Since there are now 2 modes, perhaps you can make arcade a little more "arcady" by doing this and maybe increasing footspeed of human? Maybe something closer to the likes of TE 2006 gameplay?

Algo, Test Version #3 should come within 10 days.

Brad1981, I think you should play without MTRUN, and then u'll bless the gods of tennis each time your opponent will do a fault... ;)

Like it is tuned now, it's really close of real tennis, and I think the gameplay is still full of fun & excitement... :)

The arcade mode is for less skilled players, that should also very welcome the few CPU direct faults...
And once again, the run speed of TE2009 is very close of the TE2006's one ; what significantly changed is the speed of the accelerations, when you or your opponent stands inside the court (between the baseline & the serve line).

MTRUN just makes it more enjoyable for me, because a lot of the time I just like to rally in practice mode. I have tried very hard to play with normal speed, but I just can't. It's not enjoyable at all for me. Maybe having an additional MTRUN level that is between normal and fast could be better. It's just the ACCELERATION speed that gets me. I just find it way too slow on normal, at least for when I just rally with the CPU.

Brad, Did you ever use mtrun with TE2006 against the CPU? I used it at the higher levels (at first I FELT like I was cheating, but I got over it! ) I find that even when using the code with TE2009 sometimes I still have to fight like hell to beat the CPU! I was winning more or less quite convincingly against level 2 'till the most recent update, but had to adjust to the new CPU skills. I have even won 6-0 on occasion, but even now if I'm not careful I can lose! As Manutoo said, when we use mtrun the CPU steps up his game to try to beat us and if we are able to hang in there using the code to get to more shots sooner or later the CPU (or us) is likely to make more errors. Granted, it would be nice to have a speed level between normal and mtrun, but se la vie.... 8-) Also, since we are competing against a computer it more often than not automatically adjusts to what we are attempting, (most times, even BEFORE we attempt it!) that's why we need the benefit of the code. Perhaps if we were playing against other humans using normal speed their reaction times might be compromised more than the CPU
