EY Manu, in this week I'll send you the full spanish translation of TEM and I want to start translating this game.

i've downloaded it, and i've been playing it for about an hour. what i can notice at this moment is that it look really good. i must say though that it looks very far from an even decent beta version, as a lot of options are missing, but i like the fact that the new version will host so much more variety to the shots, it seems as though it is really focused on the details of each shot, you can never play one shot in the same way, it looks way more complex, whereas the 2006 version really lacked the variety, and it had a very limited amount of different strokes.

this looks like a good way! keep it up manutoo!

what i dont like at the moment is the players physical looks. i think it needs a bit more details, especially the male players ears they just seem to be too pointed out but hey it's just an alpha like you said, so i won't be to critical...

I don't understand how this forum and Manutoo can ask others not to speak about [censored] in their posts at all, and on the flip side have people post on the [censored] forum bashing the game, as well as praising Tennis Elbow 2008 while we aren't allowed to even mention the fact that there is a rival tennis game. Is this not hypocritical? I'm not anti Tennis Elbow or [censored],I'm just a tennis fan who enjoy playing a good tennis game which both games offer. While yes I do prefer [censored] quite a bit to this game I think TE 2008 has a ton of potential and I still play TE 2006 regularly because i do enjoy playing it. I myself just can't believe the hypocrisy that some people on these forums have. If you don't want anybody to mention [censored] fine. But you're really just a hypocrite if you're going to turn around and do exactly what you're preaching against.

Well I don't understand how Manutoo and others on this forum can ask others not to post about [censored] (doesn't even have to be promoting the game but just mentioning the game) on the forum and at the same time condone members of this forum doing exactly what he asks members on this forum not to do. I don't know maybe I'm making a big deal about nothing but at least to me this seems hypocritical.

nice, its hard, really hard i've been playing for an hour or so and i'm just gettting into it, i almost won a match, 5-7 and just 37-41 points
6-1,6-1,6-0,7-5, all lost

-i tried to change what you said to make my char a man and a one handed backhand player and it doesnt work(the sistem.ini thing lol)
-sometimes it feels like the player is stuck onto the the ground or the opposite, like it's floating or something
-i dont like much the end of the strike at forehand, backhand is perfect(double-handed)
and that would be all
nice for being the first test version

This is very good for a Demo.

But are there different service motions to choose from?

Also I put doublehandedfh to 1 and she was still hitting it with one hand. Why?

TE2008 will need very bit of translation, but u'll have to wait the game to be finished, coz now, I still didn't add the new texts to it..!

Unfortunately, the 3D models are more or less final, it's only what I could get done for my low budget, so I hope it'll be ok...

I never noticed the ears, but it's true they may be a bit big, but nothing too much elephantine I hope...

But your comments on the models are still welcome, coz there are some changes I could do by myself, if needed.

In case you didn't notice, TTennisfan and I are 2 distinct persons, and I can't be taken responsible for his actions...
And there are no "others" on this forum deciding about that.
It's my forum, my rules. Which are in a general way pretty libertarian, no ..?

If TTennisfan breaks rules of another forum, I'm not going to support him, but it won't be my job to bash him here either... There are moderators on the other forum to take care of him.
At least, he wrote just a few messages, with a correct topic, which was not what did one of the people from the other forum this morning : he wrote about 12 topics with insulting and/or misleading titles, and after he asked me to not ban him, pfff...

So except that, do u have any comment on the new gameplay..?

I guess you have Windows Vista. If so, then you may need to edit the "Tennis.ini" in "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Tennis Elbow 2006" , or to move your TE2008 directory out of "C:\Program Files\" .

doublehandedFH isn't in the list of the supported parameters shown in the 1st post...
There's only 1 animation per strike for now, so only 1 service as well. More will come in the months after the 1st release of the final version. (Likely 1 set, maybe 2)

You have to edit "Tennis.ini" to customize your character.

Why the courts aren't realistic ? My guess would be that you want them in 3D, which won't happen for now...

I just updated the Test version.
I added a visual helper.
You can turn it off by lowering the Preview parameter of [TrainingClub_p1] (it's on 3, so it'll disappear if set on 0, 1 or 2).

No more explanation about this helper, it's important that people could get it without having to read the documentation.

I'm very waiting for your theories about the new rules behind the new gameplay...
I think tomorrow, I'll unveil them, and explain in details so you could tell me if u think it's all alright or not, but I'd like to know what you can guess by urself 1st... (still to know if people could play & enjoy the game without the need of a tutorial, or/and additional visual helpers).

So download the Test version again, and then play & after write, thanks !

one question:


we can change the court or its only blue-green cement

You can change the court : it'll change the ball rebound, and sounds, but not the court visual, which will always be the blue-green cement.

I tried, but when I play it's Blue Green

Ooops, yup, it reverts itself to Blue Green Cement (not only visual, but everything)... I'm going to check that...

Im not to fond of the BIG Green and Red thing. But I do like that you put the little gray thingy back in/

Um, Do you know if the actual ball striking could be changed to mph? My serve is in mph but not my forehands and backhands.

Could like post what shirts and shorts are which? Because I keep trying to change my outfit and its not the outfits end up being tacky.
