players focussing too much on doubles

Hi Manutoo,

I have a question about the following. I noticed that a lot of players are focussing too much on doubles. For example a player ranked 130 in singles, choosing not to play Grand Slam quallies, but instead going for a 10k only to play doubles (as she's ranked 500 in the world in doubles). This happens quite a lot. It also happens the other way around, doubles specialists like Liezel Huber all of a sudden playing singles again and scoring wins in singles in 10ks, and then back to doubles in a Premier tournament the week after.

Is there something that can be done about this? It would make the game a bit more realistic.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

it may be related to the fact that when there's not enough players in a draw, any free players are called to fill it in, whatever their preferences are.
It can also happen randomly ; you can imagine that that #130 player got slighlty injured and wanted to do a easy tournament that week, for example... ;)
