A question about motivation.

Postby Curtis » 17 Mar 2012, 09:04

This is not a bug report! :applause:

I was reading through the documentation, and my attention was caught by the explanation of Motivation. It says that when a player does not travel with her coach, her motivation is reduced 25%. Traveling with an assistant will reduce this malus. I think that I have not previously understood what is meant by 'traveling with the coach'. Most of the time all four of my players go to the same tournaments, and I had assumed that as long as the coach was at that tournament all four players would count as 'traveling with the coach', but I am now thinking that was wrong. Do I need to have three assistants, one for each player (leaving the coach for Emily), or is one enough?
*****
Second, all of my players are making enough money to travel first class and stay in five star hotels. We have just finished the British Open, where Sarah Pitkowski took both the singles and doubles titles. She is at the training center with the coach, and her motivation is listed as 'low', with her bar extending maybe a third of the way across. Emily made it to the third round in singles and lost in the doubles semi-final, and her bar is almost too short to be seen! What in the world does it take to motivate these women?

On the other hand, Tauziat and Demongeot lost in the finals in doubles, going out in the second (Demongeot) and third rounds in singles, and their bars are almost full. There must be something going on here I don't understand. Does it have anything to do with success relative to ranking? I doubt it, since Sarah was ranked 23 in singles before her victory. (She rose to the top 10 for the first time in her career, which also put her on track for me to succeed in her current contract.)

Hello,

1- normally, you just need the coach to be at the same tournament than your player ; in that case, you don't need an assistant ; and same for assistant when coach is not there, just one per tournament should be enough

2- there are a lot of rules for the motivation ; for example : you need to take a break from training from time to time (ie: 6 to 12 hours of consecutive resting), you should not stop to play tournaments for too long time, etc...

Thank you for mentioning taking rest in full day blocks. I had not been doing that. Until this current game I had not been overworking my players. limiting them to 22 or 23 tournaments a year.

The COACH is 'you' - nothing to do with your trainers / assistants. So the message is correct - YOU are with your 1st player, not with the 2nd one
You can check where they are (ie whether they have travelled with the other player) from the screen that lists all your employed staff - highlight their line and it shows their location at the bottom

Okay i revisited my problem. What I found is that when I go to train stats that require some1 to be there with you. It says that no one is there to help them train for that stat. But this is incorrect because I have a trainer with him and I know this because I check my trainers location.

Quizzor,
only "Assistant" can help you train all skills. Other trainers can't.
If you have an assistant, but the game doesn't see he's with your player, then send me your saved games.

Quizzor,
I PM'ed you my email.
Be sure to have the latest version before to send me anything.

The assistant replaces the coach when the coach is not there. Other trainers handle only their field of expertise.

Okay how do i get an assistant, because the only one i see i can get is a trainer. I have TEM 1.oh is tht the latest version?
Never mind i found where to hire a assistant. When u go to hire a trainer under filter click on the dots and that will change, keep clicking tell you see Assistant.
Another thing i noticed tho is i cant pay for all my staff with one of my players. Seems to me what ever player that trainer/assistant is with has to pay for them.
