Would there be any way to keep the surface percentages more stable? It just seems a bit odd that in one tournament my player can go from having a percentage of 0.1% then go up to 70/80%. If it were more stable, it would make players who were bad on a particular surface lose more on it, like Pete Sampras on clay. It would then be possible to train it
Did you select this player that partnered with ur 2 players ? Did u select him 1 or 2 times ?

The surface skills are not to describe the overall ability of a player to play on the surface.
It shows if he's used to it or not. This is to give a little bonus to players who play a lot of a certain surface, and to simulate the needed adjustments when playing for 1st time since long time on a surface.
The overall ability to play or not on a certain surface depends of the play style and all the skills.
If Sampras didn't win more on clay, it's coz he had a too weak backhand, he based his play too much on his serve and on attacks to the net, which he couldn't do much on clay...
