Would there be any way to keep the surface percentages more stable? It just seems a bit odd that in one tournament my player can go from having a percentage of 0.1% then go up to 70/80%. If it were more stable, it would make players who were bad on a particular surface lose more on it, like Pete Sampras on clay. It would then be possible to train it

The surface skills are not to describe the overall ability of a player to play on the surface.
It shows if he's used to it or not. This is to give a little bonus to players who play a lot of a certain surface, and to simulate the needed adjustments when playing for 1st time since long time on a surface.
The overall ability to play or not on a certain surface depends of the play style and all the skills.
If Sampras didn't win more on clay, it's coz he had a too weak backhand, he based his play too much on his serve and on attacks to the net, which he couldn't do much on clay...

Manu - I selected a partner (C) for my created player (A). Then the next week I hired another player (B), and selected a partner (D) for him.

Player B entered the futures event in week 5. He played (and qualified) in singles in week 4, and played in doubles quals in week 4 with player D and got through. When I get to the draw for the main event in week 5, player B is in the singles, but in the doubles draw it is player A and player D, when it should be B+D (who qualified together)

I just tried it again, and the same thing happened. It didnt happen in the earlier betas, just the last one (e?)

One more thing i found maybe not a bug: When i start the game it says "Invalid Key". The game runs proper anyway. Maybe a conflict with my Tennis Elbow key? The message only appears on my pc at home, not on the pc at my work (there is no TE installed)

With the newest version, 1.0a, I hire a second player in week 2, then 3 weeks later I get told that I have failed with his contract (which was supposed to be for a year) = bug

Ok, thanks to ur detailed report, and your "It didn't happen in the earlier betas", I could locate the bug after a little hour of fighting to follow it...

yup, that's why I suspended the link for a while...
To debug the "end of contract bug", i reduced it to 3 weeks instead of 52, and forgot to restore it before to release the new version...

So I guess it means u installed the Beta over the Alpha, which contained a key which is not valid for the Beta. But it doesn't create other trouble, it just stays in demo mode.

Unfortunately, it's possible there's still some troubles with double partners, maybe they can go to play on other single tournaments at the same time than playing double with your players... If u notice that, thanks to let me know (I don't have the brave to test it by myself right now, i'm too tired )

I also extended the delay to book tournaments from 3 to 4 weeks. (still to handle trouble with double partners)

One idea: Is it possible that the national flags will be displayed in the match screen on the right next to the player names? I think it would look nice.

Thanks Tennis Helmut for your order, and thanks to all the testers here, coz almost everybody here bought the game ! It really cheers me up a lot after all the long time to create the game..!

For the flags, I note it to try for later, I cannot put them too easily (right now, the engine expects to have only 1 flag on the screen so it needs a bit more work to put 4)

I've got a little suggestion. My player got injured during the first match of a Davis Cup game. But the country doesn't replace the player with a backup player but instead loses both games because the player is injured. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe the country should call up a backup player for the second match.

Is it possible for players to request for you to manage them? I had Santoro, and when his contract was due to end, I somehow ended up with Santoro full time(i.e. his objective and contract time was the same as the player I created), and I ended up lookin after Forget as well. Also, there may be a bug with the coaches, assistants etc. I was coaching Rusedski and his contract got ended because his ranking fell too far, but I can't fire the additional assistant because he's not in the coaching center

I was not able to reproduce the bug that gave u a lifetime contract with your players.
If it happens again, could u send me all of this :
"Tennis.ini" + "System.log" + all subfolder "Profiles" compressed in .zip or .rar , to my email ..?
Your game is saved every week (if you didn't turn off the option), so it should be more easy to reproduce the bug.

A couple of possible bugs:

I just had one of my player's money jump from (I think) +$70000 to
-$2million. It occurred the week after I added an extra assistant to travel with him.

Also when you get the pre match briefing screen - is the little court graphic near the centre (with the 3 sets graphic) supposed to be the type of court that you are playing on that week? If so, then possible problems there - in Montreal Masters Series, it came up as grass!

Final possible bug is to do with the coach travelling with one player etc. I have got 2 players playing futures. Both went to qualifying one week, taking the coach with them. One did not qual, the other did. The one who did not qual came home, and I brought the coach home with him, but the following week, the coach was not available to either player !

I saw what I think was a bug.

Was playing doubles and the game asked me twice if I wanted to enter the qualification rounds for a future tournament. I clicked yes twice. I played the first match and lost, and then got to play another match in the same tournament, won, and got into the main draw.

I checked the qualification draw and my player and his partner were entered twice once like "Player A/Player B" and another time as "Player B/Player A".

Two further errors - I had an assistant travelling with one of my players, and when the money error that I mentioned 2 posts above this happened, the assistant got left in Montreal, and I can't fire him / assign him to a player at all now.

I've also just had the game crash completely in week 38, when my two lowest ranked players were set to play doubles against each other, and one of their patners changed to be the partner of the other one, so it was A+C v B+C - the game crashed completely. (It should have been A+C v B+D)

your bug A+C v B+C instead of been A+C v B+D is probably due to the Davis Cup happening on the week 38.
If u kept ur saved games from around this week, thanks to send them to me (like last time).

Do you remember if B was better ranked than A ? or the opposite ?


.... Working on the other bugs, an update should come within a couple of hours ....
