Davis Cup - Training Hours

Postby Rob4590 » 06 May 2011, 19:56

Hi Manu - there seems to be a problem with the hours that the players get to train during Davis Cup weeks.

When your player plays both singles and doubles, he gets 24 hours to train before the 1st match, then seems to be 1 hour in the middle, then 12/13 hours after the 2nd singles. However, when he is only in the singles, he still gets the original 24 hours, then gets 6 hours in the middle, but then doesn't get any hours to train after the 2nd singles - when he should get 12 like the others.

Hope this can be tweaked for the next version

Thanks

Hello,

actually, after the 2nd singles (occurring on Sunday), you shouldn't get any training hour as the week is over (or only get very few).
Maybe you got mislead by your planning on the following week ? ie: 1st time, you started to play on Wednesday, so you got 12 hours, and 2nd time, you started to play on Monday, so you got 0 hours.

Well, I'm still playing with an older version of the game, but in that version it is always the case that after a player played the Fed Cup - guess it's not different from Davis Cup - she has always 14 hours to train the same week. Weird, but rewarding, and I think it should also be a rule on the ATP-WTA Tour to incitate top players to commit to it more :P !

Doh, I found the bug...
Actually, you were getting too much training hours when :
- playing singles & doubles the same week, when losing the 1st competition, it'd add 1 extra day of training
- playing in Davis Cup double would earn 2 extra days of training on Sunday!

I fixed this, and to encourage people to play Davis Cup, game now gives a motivation bonus when entering the Davis Cup round, 1 for Singles & 1 for Doubles, and also an experience bonus..!

Update will come within a few weeks... ;)

Thanks Manu

Before the update, can you just check that the coaches bonuses to training are working correctly?

The reason I ask is I have my main player and Also Lleyton Hewitt playing pretty much identical tournaments over the last two years. I set myself a target to keep their skills at a certain level for each category (around 5-10 points below their potentials) and set 3 trainers to each player, covering 5 of the 6 categories to varying %s. In the 1st year, it seemed really easy to keep Hewitt above those targets, but fairly hard to keep my main at his targets. I then swapped some of the coaches around for the next year, and now Hewitt is struggling to keep his skills, while my main is going up easily (having now got better personal coaches).

With the coaches for the other two players, every category is getting the 25% bonus when they are all at the coaching centre, while between Hewitt and my main, they are getting mostly 25's when on the road.

I guess what I'm asking is - if 2 players are at the same tournament (and they both stay there all week, whether they get to the final, or lose 1st round) do they both use each others caoches %s? On the screens it says they do - but my evidence (and I hasten to add it is just one year) says that they only use their own.

Can you check?

Also - is it possible to add extra coaches into the game? If so - does this only work for new games, or can they appear in current games?

Rob4590,
you should send me your saved game when your 2 players are away at a tournament. I'll check if they get all bonus or not.
But if the info page shows they get them all, there's low chances they don't.

And yup, you can add trainers any time you want, in the file "Data\Team.ini" (do a backup 1st, just in case ;) ).
