is it possible to edit the tournament calendar in the following way?
I'd like to implement the actual WTA calendars from each season 1995-today. This means some tournaments would appear and disappear from the calendar. So far you can implement a lot of tournaments yourself, but you can't set a year date. However, when creating player files, it is possible to determine when a player starts competing.

Could I add something like "Start Year 1999" and then do "2000 2001 2002"? I'd love to implement my own schedule into the game so I could actually play the events the pro's were able to select back in the day.

no, it's not possible.
The only thing you can do is change the name, surface, prizes and country of the Tournament each year, but then, it'll also change these infos in the tournament archives.
The week & the size of the draw must remain same, else it'll invalidate your saved games.

Where can I do this though? In the "Tour.WTA" folder you can find:

Name = Auckland
Ground = RA
DrawSingle = 32
DrawDouble = 16
Category = 9
Country = NZ
Week = 1

I can't see where to change the name each year there.

Do you think you could implement this option in future updates? I can understand it would be too much work to put in the data yourself, but make it possible for everyone? Would be a cool thing to mod.

Also, I think the problem with QPED manye people have been facing is due to Windows 7 64 bit versions. Wth 32 bit it's no problem to install at all. Right now I'm trying to find alternative programs to open .pak

You have to create 1 "Tour.ini" per year, and when a new year begins in the game, you have to exit the game, switch the .ini and re-launch the game.

And unfortunately, having a non-constant calendar would require to change a thousand little & not-so-little things in the game engine.

and what about "simply" adding, from the beginning of the game and hence showing each year, all the tournaments that are possible each week throughout the whole 1990-201? period? For instance, week 1, Atp Tour, Adelaide 1990-2008; Brisbane 2009-201?; Wellington 1990-1992; Doha 1993-201?; maybe Chennai ...
It means that you could still chose to play Brisbane in 1991, but also Adelaide instead; you could play the AO on plexicushion back in 1995 - or on green synthetic .

Would it mean too many tournaments for the game to handle?

And I'm aware the points system has to remain the same throughout the whole game.

And of course, I don't include the ITF tournaments in this tentacular concept.

Brecht, having too many tournaments would make them half-empty as there are not enough players to fill them all...
