Update Suggestions

Postby PattySchnyder » 27 Aug 2009, 03:33

Everyone can post theirs here.

I have one. Basically when we start our careers it should be the option if we want our player to peak early or peak late for example Sharapova won her first GS at 17 where she peaked early where as Clijsters didnt win her GS until she was like 25 I believe and Mauresmo was like 26 before she won her first.

I have a suggestion as well.
I think it would be nice to have the screen with the head to head betwee to players before the match
begins. Maybe it would be possible to store the previous stats in those matches to?
So you see the head to head, select a match and than see the stats of thast match?

Head to Head Detail is already visible during the match presentation, but the Match Stats aren't saved...

Yes, I saw that the head to head is vissible for your own players, but not for CPU-players.
So, now I see the name of one CPU-payer and a name of one of my players if I watch a match betwee 2 CPU-players.

Thanks a lot. That would be great :).

I have another little suggestion. Would it be possible to export the stats as well?

Hi, i'd just like to ask if there is an update on the cards or if this is the last version? :p

Anyway for suggestions I think making money more significant to the game would be great. I think that it would be good that if the money is too low then certain continents far away from the base and where the player is situated should be restricted until the player makes enough money and obviously if the money gets ridiculously low then possibly the contract will be unstable/terminated.

Also, I think that we should have the option of ditching the default player!

And I think in our player's activity, we should also be able to see the results of every match on one page, not just the result of the tournament

I had some other suggestions but if they come back to me then i'll mention them!

It'll have an update in a few months, but it'll be mostly about Players & Tournaments & Points system.
U can still tell ur suggestions, as any addition to TE2009 World Tour will be also available to TEM (& vice versa).

I would exclude "confidence" from the list of mental condition. I never train it because it feels unreal to use your experience points in order to get up your confidence. This way it feels much more real.

On your player update: I'd like to get this game even more difficult. I've increased stats of some of the top player so that I feel like being challenged constantly. But it is far too easy to 'jump' from the 300s to like 60 in the rankings. Once you get into you first qualifying of a tour event your ranking really goes up like a rocket. I think you should increase players' stats in general by a bit so that it is more difficult to climb up the rankings.

Lastly, I'd wish for more players to compete. There's like 200 players in my ranking without any ranking points.

Well, there's more small things, but overall I wanna tell you: I can play this game over and over again and it's soooo much fun, really!

crazillo, look into the Tennis.ini ; there are some parameters to change the training efficiency & the skill lowering speed ; by playing with them, you can make the game way harder & slower to reach the top. Let me know if u find some values u think more enjoyable.

Some players never make it to the 2nd round of Future, so they never get any ranking point. Some never qualifies, so their tournament count is 0. Some just play only in doubles, or only in singles.

Yup, it is very realistic that there are many unranked players on the tours even though they play quite a bit.

I think it would be amazing if it could be possible to coach both WTA and ATP in one game. Then that would mean that we'd be able to play/create events like Hopman Cup and mixed doubles in slams. I'm not sure how realistic/possible that is though?

Also, if it is possible to make our careers longer than just 16 years? Obviously players Careers usually last upto that but for coaches they obviously last much longer so it would be good if we could play for like 30 years or so. Although I get that it's impossible to start from 2010 and play for 30 years but maybe if there was a cutoff year that we can't exceed, like the 2024 it is right now.

On your player update: I'd like to get this game even more difficult.

About confidence: I never train it either, but it is a good indication of the mental state of the player. I always keep an eye on it, like on motivation, to see if the player needs a break or more training. And (I'm sure you notice it) confidence gets slightly up with each training hour.

I agree with you about the easiness of the mid term of a career. I started to play the game at pro level, but soon realised I'd better play at incredible to be really challenged. I usually have difficulties to start careers (especially of the main players, when its stats are around 5%): it takes months to qualify for a future. But once the machine is on, the ranking and skills improvement is rather unrealistic. On the other end, when the player is in the top ten, some days are hard.

Another way to raise the difficulty of contract players: I noticed that when the coach is being successful, no more unknow players appear on the recruiting sheet; therefore it is quite easy to fulfill the contracts and make a talented champion in spe make the top 100 in half a season. It would be another story with journey(wo)men. Such an opportunity rarely happens ... Nevertheless, I'm just making the experience of coaching a player who shouldn't be playing this season ... I wonder if it's a bug, but I'm enjoying it all the way. I'll tell more about it when the contract ends.

another question:

if i would follow the actual wta schedule, like hannover being played till about 2000, tournaments like berlin up to 2008, now gone etc., would this affect the rankings dramatically? ITFs would be a lot too much work, but the main tour should be close to the actual tour that year IMO. what do you think mantuoo?
i'd kinda adapt points to one type of ranking system though, anything else would be too complicated.
