Are you updating from 1.0c, or from the earlier build of 1.0d? If from c, you will lose your game in progress. Download, then drag the files and folders inside the download folder one at a time into the game directory. As you move each one you will be asked if you want to replace the existing file or folder. Click 'yes' each time until you're done.

The reason I don't recommend just replacing the entire game folder with the new download folder is that my game folder had 13 things inside it, while the download folder only had 10. I was afraid the three extra would disappear. (I really don't understand computers.)

If you're just updating from the earlier build of 1.0d and want to save your existing game, try reading ManToo's explanation on the first page of this thread. I hope it works for you.

guest, u can do like Curtis said or install in a new directory and re-install your key, and then copy over the "Profiles" subfolder from your previous installation (although this last step isn't much needed when updating to 1.0d from 1.0c coz the saved games aren't compatibles).
And yup, when replacing a whole directory, Mac OSX deletes all files inside which is quite strange (Windows keeps the files, which is more logical  ).
In such cases, the 3 lost files are : System.log (ok to be lost), the license Key (need to be reinstalled), and last one I have no idea (so maybe it's only 2 lost files :P ).

 The last one is a .txt file that manutoo recommended I add that contains the modifications I make to some of the data files.

Hello, manutoo.

I am nearing the U.S. Open in year one of my current game, and I just had the problem with doubles qualifying again. Pitkowski's doubles team was the number two seed in Lithuania Futures 1, then they won that tournament. They were still forced to go through qualifying for Lithuania 2.

EDIT: I see that their ranking was one lower than the least direct for Lituania 2, so I guess that the problem was that L2 had a much stronger field than L1.

I suspect something similar may have happened to Emily in singles a few weeks ago, but the situation was not identical. She got into a futures (I don't remember which one) as a qualifier, then won the tournament. She was told that she had missed participating in the singles qualifier for the next tournament (which may have been at a seperate location), though she did get in for doubles. I checked the rankings for the singles players in that next tournament, and her ranking was better than the least direct, though lower than any of the seeds.

Don't forget you would have to compare her ranking the week BEFORE she won the first singles tournament with the ranking of all the other direct acceptances for the 2nd event (in the week before the 1st event), not compare their rankings on the week of the 2nd tournament - what I'm sure you would find is that Emily's ranking had jumped up considerably from the win in the first event thus having here show as "should in be directly" while when that was actually worked out, she had the low ranking, hence had to qualify (but couldn't cos of still being in event 1).
