AI player activity (i.e. the tournaments they pick)

One of the weaker aspects of the game, in my view, is the calendar schedule of the AI players (i.e. wich tournaments they pick). You often see players play back-to-back tournaments in different continents, like one week in Europe and the next week in South America, which is not overly realistic (a few players do that in real life, but not very often). You also see volleyers voluntarily playing small clay court tournaments, even though a tournament with a surface more suited to their style would come up the week after (which they then miss). You see clay courters (defenders) voluntarily play tournaments on indoor carpet. And so on. Overall, it is quite obvious that the AI is not very good at choosing its tournaments.

Is there a way to modify how the AI players pick their tournaments? And if not, are there plans to improve this in future versions of the game?

Hello,

there's no plan to change that for now, and it's not Moddable... The only thing you can do is give a favorite surface to each player.

Alright. Well, one work-around is to give players off-times for certain weeks of the year - to prevent Roddick, for instance, from playing an ATP 500 clay court tournament in South America. Of course, that means the player won't play any other tournaments that week, either, but this is a minor drawback.

Overall, with the off-times I have given the players for my personal mod of the game, they choose a much more realistic calendar.

How do you give players off-times for certain weeks of the year? Where can you do that?
