Changing starting dates

Postby Ibarrategui » 05 Sep 2008, 10:20

Hello

1/ Playing TEM in the future (2010's) boring me. I wonder if it is possible to change dates of start (I'd prefer a 1980-2012 game), without changing the length of the game

2/If it is possible, can I make 3 different calendars (one for 1980-1986, one for 1987-1993 one for 1993-2012)?
How can I run these calendars? Is there a file to modify?

Hello,

1- yes, it's possible to add all years u want to the players database, but then, u have to provide players for all years u add, and it's a huge work to do that manually... :?

The 1st step would be to put :
FirstYear = 1980
under [WT_Static] in the player base.

And after, add all needed players.

2- you can't change calender without starting a new game
It's in "Data\Tour.*.Ini" .

1/ Yeah, I know. I think it will really interesting to see the 80's : the Borg-McEnroe climax, Connors revival, Lendl vs McEnroe, Lendl vs Wilander, Edberg and Becker in mid-80's, the swedes...
and Navratilova, Evert, mandlikova, youngs Graf and Sabatini, etc.
I know it's a huge work, but my wta player and atp players files are more realistic now (women, I think there's just few improvements to make)...

2/ Oh... Calendar has changed a lot between 1980 and now...

Another question:

If I Put 1980 as starting date, can I put 2015 as last date (=> 35 years... it is 32 years actually)?

There's no limit to the number of years stocked in the player base.
The only limit is your PC memory, so you can probably have 100 years without any problem... :)

OK.

I dont found wta rankings before 1989

But, for mens, I was able to launch 1989 season. With Stefan Edberg, Ivan Lendl and Boris Becker fighting for the number one position. With some guys as Milo Mecir reaching slams finals...

But, game failed in april (because of Davis cup), I have just put the 200 firsts spot in singles rankings. I must put 500... and I hope that game won't fail.
I can, in my opinion, put seasons after 1980. Maybe 1978 and 1979. But before, I've no sufficient ATP rankings. And the calendar of a 80's season is really different as today...

Have you tried e-mailing the ATP and WTA to ask them for the information? It worked when I e-mailed Ford Motors to ask about automobile production in the 1970s.

I tried, a long time ago, with itftennis.com, and they were really quick to answer me. I've no problems with past ATP rankings, but WTA... I tried to e-mail them, but no answer...
