Incoherent wins ?

Postby Cenc » 02 Jul 2008, 11:24

after this ull probably again say that i only complain all the time but this is really really boring to play like this: read please

i have a serve and volley player whose worst skills are about 80 and most of them about 90
special skills i think 94-96 all the time
volley 87-90
baseline game about 80
serve about 85

my calendar is like this:
aus open
sometimes san jose
indian wells
miami
monte carlo
roma
hamburg
roland garros
sometimes queens
wimby
montreal
cincy
uso
sometimes bangkok
madrid
paris

1st: why i cant win a single title OTHER than grand slam: i mean 4 consecutive seasons i lost 1st rounds of: madrid, roma, montreal
(my energy is always 100%)
2nd: why am i nearly unbeatable at ROLAND GARROS?! (i win about 66% of roland garros tournaments - 2 in 3 years) beating muster like 62 64 63 if i remember correctly
3rd: why am i unable to reach wimby finals?!
my wimby semis against chang were 26 26 46
and few weeks earlier in hamburg i beat him in straight sets
4th: my mental skills are about 90; cold blood about 98
my aus open match with rafter:
i won the 1st set 62
and then 3 consecutive sets i lost A DOUBLE BREAK (41 or 51 in 3 consecutive sets) and a mini break in TB and finally result was 26 76(10) 76(9) 76(5) for rafter
5th: my top spin is 5 so it doesnt look like you improved top spin thing
6th: my injury resistance is 2 stars but in ONE season i had serious blisters 4 or 5 times why???

can it be really that bad luck if its totally randomized or maybe its some bug in 1.0c or what? i mean this didnt happen in 1.0b, these are problems from 1.0a
whats wrong here?!

PS

wow seems it was my fault i mean the older my player is the better he is on fast surfaces and worse on clay

Hello,

1, 2, 3) I'm not sure why, if you want, you can send me your saved games, I'll have a look
4) coz Rafter is real fighter..! ;)
5) I did, & I'm surprised of ur results, with a topspin of 5, you should be advantaged in Wimbledon & disadvantaged in RG...
6) Coz a 2-star Injury Resistance doesn't prevent 100% of injuries, it just lowers the chances to be injured...

i finished career with 19 slams
actually it was quite realistic in the end
i had total of 44 tournaments
2 years number one

about clay... in the end i had only 3 roland garroses and 6 wimbledons so its fine :)
well, yes but still it was no fun to lose wimby semis against chang :) i mean it was ok when i lost 2 straight finals against sampras as he was definitely greatest grasscourter ever but chang... huh...
but it all started happening (real results such as losing 1st weeks at rol gar and winning wimbys and us opens) in the 2nd part of my career after age of 25 maybe or 26 and before that my favourite surface was clay.
i will check it one more time, i have some free time now and then if it will happen too often that grasscourters win clay and other way around ill send u saves

btw, may i try to edit some players and courts and send u my suggestions?
also it would be nice if u could tell me how to edit courts i mean i know the technique i just need to know skill by skill what does it mean on which surface

thx in advance

Ooops, I forgot to point out something very important last time.
If your player style is Counter, Defender, Puncher or Power Baseline, it's normal that he is more successful on Clay than on Grass.
The best styles for Grass is volleyer (of course ;) ), followed by Varied.

ooops, i forgot to answer this last question before... :P

Ok, so yes, if you edit some players, you can send them to me (post them here inside [Code] tag if you want).
About the courts, you cannot change anything; only the "SurfaceSpeed" is used and I won't take any change on it.

I launch a game just for simulating results. On clay, the top volley players are overrated! Edberg wins 2 French, Sampras 4, Rafter 1, Federer 2... Muster, Kuerten and Costa only one each.
I think that clay must be slowed...

OK if Edberg or Sampras or Stich or Rafter win one time the French. But all the time...

second simulation : I think that WTA ranking is not an accurate method to evaluate the level of the top players between 2000 and 2007, because of the severe injuries of major players like Serena, Henin, Clijsters...

Davenport wins too much grand slams tournaments...

Another remark : double players make oftently some long runs in Grand Slam. To see players like Mike Bryan, Scott Davis, Paul Hanley or Dannie Visser in grand slam semi-finals is really desappointing.

Except these points, I love this game!

It's not exactly the volleyers that overrated, but more the number 1 players...

But I'll try to tune a bit that anyway for next update...
