General discussions about the 1st version of Tennis Elbow Manager

Pricing

Postby Alka » 12 Jun 2013, 08:15

Why is this game priced so highly?

I enjoyed the demo, but the price point is off-putting. I see it as more of a "novelty" purchase and I will play for a few weeks probably.
For that I can pay maybe $10-15 (USD).

I can understand Tennis Elbow 2013 being $24.95. That game has realistic simulation, nice graphics and online play. You would play it for many many hours.
Manager is more of a 'side' game to me, and I think you may scare off many potential customers by pricing it so highly.
I can buy some new releases for this price, some 40+ hour RPGs etc. Most games I enjoy for a few weeks I pay $10-15 usually as a spontaneous purchase. They are low cost but sell high volume. $25 is too high to be spontaneous so I think you should re-think your price point, otherwise people like myself will never buy it.

Thanks,

Alka

Think the same about TEM. It's a lower quality game than TE to be rated in the same price

Hello,

when you buy both TE2013 & TEM, the 2nd game is 50% off, ie: US$12.5, which is in your price range.

Also, TEM is the only offline tennis manager game, and it's a very niche market, so even with low price, most people will never be interested in such kind of game, so there's no point to lower its price.

1. I see no mention of this on the website/order page, anywhere. Advertising this "combo" (both games for $37.49) could be quite beneficial.

I may consider both now, thanks for letting me know.

2. Its market is sporting management simulation. I have played championship/football manager before, and pro cycling manager (even though I am not very interested in cycling). This is a big category, however the pricing means you're only targeting niche customers (tennis and management fans). Don't sell yourself short!

Of course if you have done your research and have found this price point is best then stick with it.
I am just giving you something to think about and, if you haven't, perhaps you should research your market so this game can be more successful :)

Alka,
1- it's shown on Plimus order page, and you also get a link in your License Key email afterward.
I did advertise the combo in a newsletter, here : https://www.managames.com/newsletter/new ... 08_en.html .

2- even with the 50% off not much people buying TE2013 also buy TeManager, while I still have more people buying TEM at full price, so I'm convinced the price is alright ; the game never had great sales, but over the years, the total is decent enough...

Im more interested in TEM, but to be honest the price is way too high for me to even consider buying it

I mean game is nice, but imo way too expensive for what you get for >20 euro

Example currently the best football managment game, Football Manager 2015 and plus you get Documentary Bundle, and the whole package is priced at 22,38 euro.

And size and conentent of those two games cant really be compared

Just saying

I think the price is right, specially because Manu is independent developer...

So, few euros more to help him make great games like TE or TEM is perfectly OK for me...

And on TEM I lost hours and hours of gameplay

Aduka,
as Blacky said, plus when buy TEM, you also "buy" a 50% discount on TE2013 + a small discount (or maybe more) on TEM2.

Hi all, especially Manutoo, from Italy.
I bought ALL your tennis game (managerial and not) on Steam...
Have I rights for a partial refound? (I read here about discunts).
It's only a "try", a "why not?" I won't ask for full refound to Steam.
Off topic
P.S. In another post you wrote you're working on TEM2 only...does it mean no more question of any type about TEM?
P.P.S I found everything about how mod TEM but still now I did not find mods ready to download. Where?

Thanks in any case

Ungaretti,
1) if you want to buy all Tennis Elbow games on Steam, you should use this to get a discount : https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1 ... ow_Bundle/ .
If you didn't do that, I guess you can refund all games (that you have bought less than 14 days ago & played less than 2 hours) and then buy them again using the bundle.

2) You can ask questions about TEM1, but it might be difficult for me to give a good answer, because I forgot most of the specifics of it.

3) No one ever released a Mod for TEM1, AFAIR.
