SKills decide the results of matches etc.
However - the ranking set for the year determines the skills of each CPU player for the year.
I assume you know that the CPU players skills change for week 1 of each new year dependant on the set ranking for that year?
So if a CPU player is set in the database (for example) to have skills of rallying 50 but serving 30, then in a year where his ranking is 100, he will probably have skills of 50 and 30. However in a year where he is set to have a ranking of 1, these skills would become 100 rallying and 60 serving . The next year his ranking is 20 - his skills would perhaps be 75 and 45
