I am now unable to play Tennis Elbow 2013. When I use the mouse to select from a menu item, the next menu briefly flickers but disappears when I release the mouse button. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed the game with no success.

unplug any controller you may have plugged in, especially a wheel, and possibly a trackpad.

That seems to be the problem. It would appear that the joystick I use to play the game has suddenly become incompatible with Tennis Elbow. I have re-installed the joystick but no luck.

No luck I am afraid- I have tried the suggested alterations

Still no luck. It is weird- the game suddenly stopped working.
The game now loads OK when I disconnect the joystick. However it is not recognising the joystick when I plug it back in. Windows says the joystick is working OK and works with other applications.

I've read that Windows pushed some outdated drivers a few days ago, maybe it's what happened here. Or just a change of drivers that change the behavior of the triggers on your controller or something like that.
Maybe try to rename Tennis.ini to Tennis.ini.old and launch the game, to be sure it's not linked to a change in the controller config in the game.
