"Joined" sound absent when not active, and unresponsiveness

Manutoo,

Here are two little issues which really don't matter that much to me, but maybe it is a good idea to mention them.
Often, when I host a game but them swap to something else such as Internet Explorer (when I am often reading the forum or checking e-mail while waiting for someone to join), the sound of someone joining my game does is never heard. So, I have to swap back and forth to check. This is happening under Windows XP, SP3. It doesn't always do this, but it does happen often.
The other issue is that when I host and a few people have tried to join but maybe stopped trying or whatever, or I did not accept their offer, the game seems to become unresponsive (the screen won't change, I can't exit the hosting, etc.). When this happens, I have to end the task. This seems to happen often, also.

Thanks!

Hello,

I think u already reported this long time ago...
Does it happen only when the game window is minimized ?

Hi, Manutoo. I reported this a long time ago with TE2006 under Windows 98. This is happening on a different computer with TE2009 and Windows XP SP3. So, that is why I reported it here.

Actually, the game is not minimized. It is just in the background. For instance, I host a game and then click on the button on the taskbar (displaying open programs) for Internet Explorer, which just puts IE in front of TE2009 (but IE is full basically maximized, so I can't see the TE2009 window). Sometimes the sound comes through, but much of the time it does not.

The unresponsiveness is a different issue.

I forgot to answer about the unresponsiveness... If u wait long time (ie: up to 1 minute), it's still blocked ?
After 3 people entered & exited a waiting server, the server is automatically closed to not give false hope to anymore people...

I don't know that I have waited a minute. The next time that it happens, I will try that. When this occurs, I have clicked on the button for TE2009 to bring that window to the foreground, and I find that the screen is frozen or basically blank inside the frames if I remember correctly (maybe one solid color). So, I end the task at that point.
