Logitech Dual Action Gamepad or TE 2005 error?

Postby Guest » 16 Jul 2005, 08:24

Hello,

I do not know if it is the game or the user. I am trying to use my gamepad with this game. When I had the shareware demo version of this game, the gamepad worked fine. However, now it is acting up. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening to me?

Thanks,
Eraider

ok, you can download the version from the site, I just updated it, and edit the Tennis.Ini . Under " [Game]", change the line :
JoyDeadZone = 10
to
JoyDeadZone = 0

and let me know if it changes something or not.

Hummm . . . Where is it? The current version of TE 2005 was lasted updated on June 14, 2005 (at least that is what the website is telling me).

Hello again,

No, it is worst (the joystick responds 20% of the time)!

Thanks,

try :
JoyDeadZone = 25

I'm not sure of the meaning of "it is acting up" ? what happens exactly ?

Hello,

Oh, I thought that you knew being that you have created it and based on the posts set by others.

When moving right to left, or vice versa, the joystick movement does not respond. It moves, then stops, moves, then stops. That is the best description that I can give you at the time. :(

Thank you,

Hello again,

I used the 25 setup. Let me tell you this, it is much superior for angling my shots. Now, when I hit the stick to the right or left, it does not do drop shots 90% of the time. Therefore, the 25 setup is good for that.

However, when comes to movement, I find that the following three things happens:

1) When the opponent returns the ball early, the joystick does not recognize the ball at all (no movement happens).

2) When the opponent returns the ball with a drop shot at net, the joystick refuses to respond (no movement happens).

3) When the player returns the ball with a drop shot behind the baseline, and the opponent happens to get it over with a return drop shot, the joystick does not respond (no movement happens).

When these three things do not occur, left to right movement, or vice versa is far more superior than any configuration that you have given me (this includes the improvement with angling)!

We have to just find a solution to those 3 problems (most of them are upward and downward movement I guess)!

I hope this helps,

Hello,

I think that it is your whole movement strings. :(

It is doing the same thing with the keyboard (stopping at location before getting the ball).

Also, medium mode is extremely hard! I cannot get a ball pass them in the 1st QUALIFICATION ROUND. :?

Also, how can I use my points after playing my tournaments and skipping a week to train? I am not abled to use my points!

Thanks again,

Hello,

I'm not sure to understand you, but I think you didn't notice that you stop to run when you press the buttons...
Anytime you move the stick (or the pad, or the arrow keys) and your player don't move, it means your bouttons are pressed, and you're in aiming mode, not running mode.

If I guess wrong, try to explain a bit more why you cannot move sometimes...

Hello,

I know that all ready. That is why I am posting this information now. WHEN I AM GOING TO RUN FOR THE BALL, WITHOUT PRESSING ANYTHING, the controller does not respond (5% of the time for the keyboard).

That is okay. :D

The joystick is fine for angling at the 25th configuration; however, refer to the three things that is flaky about it. That was posted above.

Thanks,

humm, so it's a bit weird, as I never noticed anything wrong with keyboard control.

Maybe you can tune a little bit again, and try this :
JoyDeadZone = 20

Maybe there's a bug somewhere, that make Tennis Elbow thinks you pressed a button, when actually you didn't.
Your pad is a wireless ..?

Hello,

Okay same three problems I listed before (will not run win opponent hits a drop shot or return drop shot, upward and downward movement are non-responsive [there are sluggish]).

This with the 20 and 25 configuration!!

Thanks,
Eraider
