Lag Rule (LR) - Tell me ur thoughts

Postby Dasp » 01 Apr 2013, 16:56

So Nadalesque def me 6/1 6/4, and first of all congrats on the title im sure it wont be the last :roll:
Now the point of this is very simple, and i created this not just because of this last match cuz this feeling inside of me has already been growing for months, and i have even talked with some guys about it.. Said that i just have one question to ask- Who here feels, that in this last months has been unfairly defeat by someone just because there connection has high ping? (my connection isnt great but it allows me to play with almost everyone with a ping below 170/180)
Now if u notice the guys becoming the top players are the ones with the worst connection, and i have discussed this with several people and they agree..i mean before to be the best u needed the best movement and to have a varied game, using spins, slices, angles, net and accelarations.. Now what i see is in some players just hit accelarations, and then an angle cross court which is impossible to reach with high ping, other just net, and others just net and spin.. Plus returning a winner is impossible cuz the outcome will problably will be and error..
So i wonder WTF happen? i mean yesterday i beat Crete which is the best all rounded player at the time and today i can´t even take a set at Nadalesque that cant barely move?( im sorry dude but ur movement isnt that great, but this applys to almost every player with high ping who are in one side of the court and then appear on the other side hiting a winner)
Concluding i just remain with the thought, whats the difference of us winning with LR and losing against some (used by months or years of practice) to such a connection?
I think i said what many are thinking but didnt had the courage to say :whistle:
Anyway congrats once again Nadalesquece and GL..

Hello,

a few notes :
- high ping gives high Delay but that doesn't change much about reaching or not your opponent short accelerations ; what it changes is that if you're late on them, more often you won't have time to strike normally & you'll do the safe shot ( = no button shot)
- movement of your opponent is getting strange with high Delay coz it's a prediction that can go wrong
- I always play with 200ms Delay (if not 250) and I don't have issue, for me it feels same than offline play against the CPU (except for the occasional forced Safe shots when I'm very late on the ball)

Hey manutoo,
0-Yeah there's my point, u said "i always play with 200ms or plus", most of us dont play like that only a few have such an high and for u just like for them isnt an issue cuz ur used to play like that but for us with normal ping of 100/130/150 ms it changes somethings, such as:
1-Return(which in my case is one of my biggest weapons) is almost impossible to use B1+B2 cuz it will certainly lead to an error or a easy ball to be attacked for the center court;
2-Movement of the other player is super weird, example: during a rallye my opponent is in one side of the court and i hit an accelaration for the opposite side, the ball goes fast (+130 km/h) the guy isnt moving then suddently a small glitch happens and he is sending the ball back when we are expecting he wont even reach it;
3-Autoposion is useless, the player reacts much slower so we problably have to guess if we want to reach the ball;
4-And finally, yes short accelaration with high delay its different(idk if its because of those glitches constantly happening or something else), cuz after the ball hits the court it seems to gain some weird accelaration which is extremly hard to defend..
Resuming mediocre players become great players due to this

These glitches make game really ridiculous. If you watch your opponent position during rallies and the animations, with this "glitch algorithm" you end up confused and your opponent is suddenly everywhere else but where he's supposed to be. I already sent you a recorded match about it and I guess now I know what's the source of my problems. If it doesn't work as intended, why is it even in use at first place? Unless it's intended that lagging opponents get advantage by teleporting around the court.

And when I ask moderators for lag rule, I hear "I am against the conception of lag rule" :roll:

Greetings Mr Manu ,
We were playing at a delay of 200ms , ping ranging from 230-250(not more) and the lag ratio we played in was 0%.
I don't understand what Dasp is trying to prove by complaining.
We also played the Acapulco final as a reserve wherein I beat him 60 61 and he gave his opponent (adner i believe) a WO. I could have got him banned , but I didn't post the reserve on the official topic and thus didn't insist on getting him banned.
Now no one else seems to have a problem playing with me ,and I don't know why he's saying he can't play at 230 ping. I don't think the result would have been any different had we played at 150 ping either , cause that would have made it even easier for me.
Thanks and Regards,

First of all i didnt give a WO to anyone i wasnt online during the deadline so he got the WO..Second, im not trying to prove anything, just saying what is right, u only win cuz ur style works with high ping, and yes, 230 yes huge ping..And u saying if the ping was 150 u would still beat me its just and absurd :roll: cuz just for starters, have u ever played in such a low ping? And second dude, ur game is always the same and i mean i was hiting long cross court winners with B1 (which is such a slow shot) and u were far behind the baseline, now think about that and see if that doesnt prove that u cant move :whistle:
And yes people do have a problem playing with u they simply are hipocryte and dont speak their mind, but not me..And if u want i can ask the best players that have ever played this game to give their opinion on this subject and we'll see the outcome 8-)

Well , your getting personal now , but i can conclude that you are so not sportive . And i have played fellow Indians at 50 ping too , and my movement only gets better , the lesser the ping. And all top players have Bad connection right ?
How many top players are from India ? or other countries with bad ping ?

And i guess when you give your opponent a walk over , it comes in capital (WO) , and when mods give walk over , it says w.o . And i hope Manutoo confirms the same and comes to know what your true character is. OT_ViewTournament.php?Trn=276

Not getting personal, and yes im sportive im playing this online for 2 years and no one has any complains about me ;)
Have u ever played a top player with such ping? cuz ur not the only one improving with that, i mean there is simply no chance you beat nader, me, mario, etc.. like u have been doing in good conditions..
Not all top players have bad ping and im not only saying this cuz i lost to you, i had already talked with sampreas about it long before..

That just proves my point that high ping influences alot the match..U would never beat him with that score in good conditions.. I mean its possible to beat u guys but we need to be playing in GOD level or playing for months in such a high ping to practice
