Quarterfinal: Mario (4) def. Victoria Azarenká V.A (7) 6/3 3/6 6/3

What a great match. I was really close from losing the match. First set he was struggling with shots, he was hitting lot of errors so all I had to do was to keep the ball into the play. I was struggling on my service games but I managed to win them somehow after lot of battle on the net. 2nd set he started playing much better, he was hitting lot of winners (especially on his forehand, short cross). I wasn't even close on his service so he managed to break me at 3/3. I was rushing on the net a lot but he read me there and he played some good shots while I was on the net. 3rd set was the best. It was all tight till 3/3 and my service. He had 15/40 there and a 2nd serve. Fortunately for me I managed to win next 2 points. He had one more break point after that but I saved that too with a good smash. The very next service game I finally returned good on his serve and I won 2 points only by returning deep. He missed 2 shots and I managed to break him there. I finished the match with nice 20+ rally on the match point. Great game better luck next time.

4th round ACE def. Kevin Westphal 6/2 6/2
_______________
Well, after 3 walkovers I was really happy to play a match in Indian Wells. ACE is a great and patient baseliner and we played a great match. Unfortunaly, I couldn't take my opportunity to make my opponent tired, cause we have to rehost several times. Wish him all the best in following matches.

Kind regards,
Kevin Westphal.

SF: G.Simon (14) def. Mario (4) 6/3 6/4

2nd loss in 2 weeks against him. I tried experimenting whole tournament with 10 % of top spin, and I though I was doing well since today. He was more aggressive, smarter, he took more risks so he fully deserved to win. First set he broke me at 3/3 and he easily took the set. Second set he broke me at 1/1 and at 3/1 but I fought back and break'd him once, shame it wasn't enough. I was playing better and better towards the match but unfortunately it was too late. Top & friendly player, congrats on the win good luck in final :D . I guess I'll have to wait another chance for the big final. :blackeye:

J.Crété def. G.Simon 6/2 6/1

He had to play on a shitty 10 years old computer so that's why the scoreline is so harsh.
Maybe next time we'll switch :blackeye:
