First set u played great and did everything u had to do to win, but in the end when playing against someone using my style u have to be focused and patient all the time cuz every point is crucial and that was ur mystake.. but it was a great match, a bit borring maybe but thats the preparation of clay season i guess xD

R2: Nadalesque def. Mario (2) 6/4 7/5

Ok, I gotta say few things. Everyone will agree it's physically impossible to hit a winer from baseline(especially with 65% on bh & 70% on fh). We used to have 100% on both fh &bh and I was still struggling but this....this is really impossible. I tried simply everything from baseline, playing short, top spin, 5-6 hard accelerations in a row but I think I won 0 points from the baseline. Next thing is serve, my strongest was 190 if I remember correctly. We both had 0 aces(yes z-e-r-o). He played with big amount of spin and I was pretty lucky that I actually won 9 games against him. The only thing that worked is serve & volley, I hope this game won't turn like in TE2006 where 99% of players played serve & volley. That was pretty boring. One more thing is funny, the amount of errors. I think we both had like 2 times more errors than winners which is also shit. I'm playing this game for 8 years now and I have to say I'm not happy at all with these new settings. I had shitloads of wins & losses so I'm not really crying now only because 1 loss. I'll play few more tournaments and if it all stays the same I'll just leave quietly like I always did.

About the game: First I had 3 break points in 1 game but I missed them all, he broke me the very next game and he took the set. 2nd set he broke me at 2/2. He was serving for a match at 5/4 where he had 2 match points but I saved them both and I managed to re-broke him for 5/5. Unfortunately I lost my next service game & after that a whole match. Congrats on the win, he's a fair player good luck in tournament.
Need geographical tour asap.

1st set I was really confused by his defensive style, so we had really long rallies. 2nd / 3rd I alternated to an aggressive gameplay and took control of the game. Really good game by him. Wish him a good following season in 2013.

Good game by him. He seemed be nervous and made a lot of unforced errors - maybe not his day. Good luck for the following season in 2013.

Exceedingly difficult match for me. I expected a superior opponent so I was really nervous in the 1st set. In 2nd set I tried to defend his awesome drop shots and kept him at distance. Altogether a really good player and fair one as well. Wish him good luck for the rest of the season.

Well, unfortunately occured some connection problems so we were forced to rehost several times. But this was not the only reason to retire - I didn't find a solution to defend his specific style. Every rally followed the same pattern: a long rally with topspin-shots, he came to the net and played volley. Admittedly, he's a great defender and almost perfect at net as well, although playing the same sequence. But with a great respect for this and him, I don't know if he is pliable enough to sustain players who know about this and will find a solution, but I wish him all the best for the following season.

Congrats to win Acapulco 2013. I think I'd be happy to reach the final. I got lucky. Nothing else.

Kind regards,
Kevin Westphal.
