No. I played with Stajus last night, and he had 116 in his forehand, but the stats showed 100 and he wasn't able to hit any shot over 151 kmh.

Well, ok. If you want that, save your current stats, and I can tell you what to do next on msn. Then you can try it out and tell me if you're faster or not :unsure:

Re: Hackers (Stats)! [Cheating Online]

I think that cheats are possible, but I am persuaded that this type of cheat is not possible beyond the limits mentioned by ManuTOO. After all, he programmed the game, and I doubt that he is wrong. Numerous times I have observed changes in the game only to find out that these things had not been changed (maybe I was right 1 of out 10, as there was maybe once or so when ManuTOO posted a :oops: or a :roll: with a comment that he had verified an issue).

I've been reticent about the other types of cheats, although I've mentioned them some, out of concern that my mentioning them would increase their usage. However, I'm past that now, as they are already too common. Induced lag is plaguing matches, and this is difficult to combat as the games are hosted peer-to-peer. Anyone interested may read of these cheats affecting several other online tennis games (titles) (I won't mention them, but they are popular titles, and posts about these cheats appear in forums for these games). You can search YouTube for standby cheat or lag switch and you will see videos of matches with games such as Halo and Gears of War in which this cheat was used. There are also videos there of how to make a lag switch, although some modems have a standby button which may be used instead. This is nothing new. Actually, there is a market for this, and places are selling lag switches now. I've played many matches where "... paused the game" will flash while the online game is being played (and action is continuing), and many other strange things have been observed. Sometimes, the ping will be great (100 ms - 160 ms), but my movement will be extremely slow and my opponent's movement will be normal; or the ball will come toward me at a normal speed, but my movement will be much slower than normal. Sometimes, I'm sure just a bad connection without induced lag is the cause, but many times, it is caused by my opponent's cheating.

It would be great if there were an option in TE2009 to end a match if the transmission from the opponent ceases to be received by the other player yet the transmission from the other player is able to be sent to the opponent (as with a lag switch, the wire that sends the data from the one using the lag switch is made open, while the wire that receives data from the other party remains intact). I don't know of a solution for this induced lag issue, but denying that it is a problem is not the solution.

So...just an update. I played a match just now with someone calling himself, "Quintin Williams." Of course, he was cheating with lag or something that works as lag (probably an application, as there are ways using Zone Alarm and other programs to cheat). The ping was about the best I have ever had, 80 - 90 ms. So, obviously there was really no genuine lag issue. He made the ball slow, then fast, slow, then fast, during rallies. On his service motion, it was fast, and then movement for me was slow. Many times, the ball would come at me full speed, and I had plenty of time and should have returned it, but since my movement was in slow motion and the ball was moving at normal speed, I missed it. It was so slow at times that the players seemed to be tip-toeing rather than running; the ping never increased. Also, some players seem to be able to cause a desynchronization error at will. Oh, and of course these players deny that they do anything (except some have alluded to their cheating). Cheater == liar as far as I care. I'm sure whoever this was will enjoy reading about his craft in this forum, but I really don't think that it is anything to be proud of. You guys ruin the game for others. Welcome to the realm of online games with worldwide losers.

A little correction : it's actually already impossible to cheat with your height... ':D

CC,
>> my movement was in slow motion and the ball was moving at normal speed
This should not be possible, and if it occurs, it's not coz of cheating, but coz of a bug. My guess would be that it comes from a trouble with ur controller device (keyboard, gamepad, etc...). If it happens in the 1st game of a recorded match, send me the .dmo file.
And a reminder, to get bad game lag, u only need to have the ping bigger than twice the Lag set at start ; ie: if the Lag is set to 33ms, and the ping is 80-90ms, it'll lag a lot (press F4 & look down right to see the Lag value).

MaxPointtt, if you have a joystick/gamepad, open the Tennis.ini with the notepad (or the .ini of your profiles), locate the [Controller] section, and below, edit these lines, from :
JoyDeadZone = 0.25
DxJoyDeadZone = 25
to:
JoyDeadZone = 0.05
DxJoyDeadZone = 5

Let me know if it works better...

If you play with the keyboard, try to use the Numpad keys to move instead of the arrow keys.

Nope, it's all placebo. When people suggested this was possible, I tested it. I thought I was faster, but then I used a stopwatch and discovered that it was all in my head. It's amazing how much "faster" people can feel when they think they are cheating...
