Sybille Bammer/Serena Williams def. M.Vasilev/G. Dimitrov 6-0 6-0

At first we had a lot of problems with host and so on. But then it was a real nice match, without ANY lag.
He's a nice player.

It was a solid match for me. My serve was ok my groundstrokes also.
I dealed good with lobs and drops.
My partner played really good.

I'm really sad that I already lost my 2nd round match in a reserve match against Flavia Pennetta, which was a tight match, where i think i had also chances.
Anyway, M.Vasilev, good luck for the future
and Flavia Pennetta, good luck for the future and also the tournament.

greets, Klaus

Santiago/Santiago def. Ying-Chang/Zing-Chang 64 62

To all who dare to immerse themselves in my thoughts...
Anyone who has played me in doubles knows how I play. You know that I take myself lightly; that I love hitting my partner with my racquet; that I love running around the court for no purpose; that I love laughing at the other player and at myself when stupid things happen. You all know this. Before each match I always warn the other player of this, because I want them to know that everything is just a joke, and that I do not take doubles seriously, because to me it is funny and only when it is funny is it fun. I make sure they understand my intentions before we begin so that I do not offend anyone.

Santiago is a good doubles player. He arrived in full style. Both players were looking identical. I explained to him what I just told you. He understood, and so we began the match. I was enjoying myself; playing the way I usually play; acting the way I usually act. He wasn't getting into it...that's ok--I don't expect everyone to have a good sense of humor. But towards the end of the set he blocked the chat. I did not know why, because I was not chatting with him at all, but I couldn't ask so it didn't matter. After the first set I was bored. It was not fun. I didn't care that I had lost; I only cared that it was the most boring set of doubles I had ever played, because I wasn't able to enjoy the game with my opponant. I thought about quitting, because for me it's just about having fun and I wasn't. I decided though that since I couldn't explain myself because chat was blocked, and that it would seem rude, I should just continue. I tried being silly again just with movements, but it was clear I was just making a fool out of myself, so I stopped. I tried to play "seriously" for the rest of the match. It was not fun. I was bored. And I probably played worse. Santiago continued to hit lobs over and over from the baseline, and use slice accelerations. Again...it was lame. I lost the match, but I don't care about the loss. I care that it was a waste of my time and I didn't have fun. Santiago immediately left after the match. I usually like chatting after, but oh well...

People take this game too seriously. Especially in doubles, it's sometimes hilarious what your partner will do, and sometimes frustrating, but you cannot control it. It's just all part of the fun. Maybe I got lucky in the previous tournament I played in doubles with who I played. Amelie Mauresmo and Tati Cornet were very fun to play with. So are Tog and Zuzana in friendly matches. They get into it with me--they appreciate the humor and the light-hearted nature of our games and so I have fun. But I feel after this match that doubles tournaments are not right for me because most players cannot have a good time with it. Will someone tell me if I am wrong?

I will always be around to play doubles with someone in a friendly match. Please send me a message on MSN and I promise if you want to relax and have an enjoying and silly game you will. My MSN is ying_chang@live.com.

Thanks for reading my thoughts :P
