you have to have a quite good timing if you want to attack a lob on rally, if you aim too much(and it's kinda easy to aim too much, specially with high ping) you're going to fail the ball, by a lot most of the times, either a dropshot(or slice) or a top spin shot and get back to a normal rally,... hopefully
but then, your opponent will do lobs over and over

they should just practice the movement and try to defend normally... :x
no offense intended to anyone*

JHON-DIM

I also join the protest of the excessive lobs, as he says ALGO, are not realistic, but can be used occasionally, not always because it becomes a handicap, for which it receives ... I hope action is taken, but not as the players do something to excess in this coup ...

The smash or groundstroke off the lob must be a HUGE HUGE shot that is a winner atleast 50% of the time. The lobs in returns and rallies are the lamest and most fun destroying thing ever to hit the gaming world LOL.

Stop teasing us, with your timing and precision you can hit a winner attacking 99% of these lobs. :p

Just y'all wait till clay season starts. You're gonna want that thar topspin shot to be taken away too.

Well, I've never meant that playing lobs with every shot is nice, I consider it unfair too.

Wow what an effect my gamereport did! Now i have calm down a little.....LOL... But! I still think the same on the lob shot. I have never played a more boring game then this yesterday (I like u Gasquet but not your game, sorry..) and sure, he deserve to win because he won more points.... I dont know what to do about this. All i know is that is has to stop. This is no way of playing tennis and very unrealistic. Maybe impossible to lob when opponent is on baseline. Idk....
Sorry if i had a bad language yesterday....

I say, Good luck Eronakold!! I cross my fingers for u and i hope u win!
Playing just for FUN, and u should also do that ;-)

Hello all,

I have to give my full support to Stefan Edberg on that matter.

Even though i dont know how the match really was,I have been playing people, and some really good players too,who just dont stop lobbing.Just a few weeks ago the thing was retiring when been broken, now its all about lobbing when been found in a difficult rally situation. Those players have been getting on my nerves now for quite some time. Its hedious to play lobs all the time,i understand having a lob in a certain situation, but constantly doing this shot is just lame.I recently played with a guy,who lobbed all the time.I even found myself counting his forehands and backhands  they were like not more than 10 for each shot till the end of the match from 2-1.I beat him anyway 6-1 but thats not the point.Again,on occasions its fine, sometimes the lob is a 'must have' shot, but we all know that those people dont use them just when they need them.

I also want to refer to Tog:Playing the topspin is something completely different.I say that with the knowledge that you posted that with sense of humor :)

If this thing continues in the tournaments i suggest there has to be something done.If so,i support this 100%.

Sorry if offtopic

It is not an unrealristic game! Lourdes Dominguez Lino has built a career on this!

No, jokes aside, I believe too that it is very boring and very unrealistic kind of play. I had a small discussion with Maria Sharapova on this subject, and (even if the discussion has turned into something fun and friendly) I am glad that this subjects has come out!

I am sorry for Richard Gasquet 2 because I believe he is a good and honest player, but in this case I am obliged to give reason to Stefan Edberg.

I totally agree with S.Williamz that smash or groundstroke shoud be a winner more often. In real life when a player gets a lob near the baseline they usually smash .
I played Richard gasquet 2 too and lets say it wasnt really fun to play.Even i started to lob him because it was annoying lol i wanted him to give him a taste of his own medicine but that dint seem to affect him lol :P
As many of you already mentioned it is unrealistic, its like playing volleyball with racquets :?
Im rooting for Eronakold,Come onnnn you can dismantle the lob fest game hehe :) (no offense to anyone :P )

 Its only now that people are finally realising what I have been protesting from the beginning. A lob would usually be swatted, but of course it isnt the case. If you try and ruch under the ball there is a high chance of the ball flying over you, or even, taking it on the volley, which sucks.

stop complaining about lobs... It is part of the game, boring or not! If u cannot handle lobs then maybe u should prac tise against lobs, then if u are good enough against it then it will stop no? It is part of the game just like rallies are. I feel the people who complain are the ones who are great baseline players and are used to baseline winners but now u have perhaps a new challenge. Embrace this new challenge and if u conquer it then u are truly the best whernu can win from baseline and lobs yes?
