Dwayne def. Tom Paulman 7-6 6-4

Quite a poor match for me, he was very good, but I can play better. I actually thought that I will win, even after I lost the 1st set, but didn't hold serve to stay in the match. He played well in the important moments while I made mistakes. Having said that I still enjoyed the match :)

It was my last tournament match for a couple of months. I might occassionally play a match or two for fun, but I probably won't play another tournament before summer or autumn. I need to get myself a Mac OS X 10.5 which will allow me to boot Windows directly. The way I play now, I feel that the game is slow and my player has late reactions... the difference is evident when I play a Mac version which is fine. I don't wanna play with this handicap plus I won't have time anyway, cause this is a very hard semester for me in school... gl to everyone in the next tournaments :)

Togtdyalttai(3) def. Tati Cornet(14) 6-4 6-7(3) 7-5

What a match! This is probably the best he's ever played against me, and I really thought he was going to win at one point.

1st set was weird. It started out with 4 breaks in a row, I was playing horrible, made a lot of errors. Then we had 5 holds in a row, and he was serving to stay in the set. I hit a great pass to get to set point, and I converted it.

2nd set got annoying at the end. I won two games, then he won two games, then we held back and forth until 6-5. Then I couldn't move. He had to quit (I couldn't, it was really weird) and restart from 6-5 for me, his serve. He proceeded to hold (after saving a match point) and then play a great tiebreak to win 7-3.

3rd set was epic, many long rallies.I started out by breaking him, but then he broke right back. Then we held until 5-4 for him. He played great in that game to get to match point, but I saved it and got out of that game. I really thought he was going to win there, but he didn't. Then I broke him after a struggle and served out the match.

I hope to see him play like this in the future! If so, he is a solid top 5 player!

togt has perfectly explained this incredible match. i am just sad to lose it for one point where i played at the same place as often. it was a return easy to anticipate. the whole match was almost perfect for me, even if i made more or less 25 faults, i had the feeling to do less because i was really agressive and defended very good. i just let him serve too much aces (20 i think).

but the rallies were excellent, i came less at net and it worked. at 5-4 ad for me in the third, i have been a little deconcentrated, but it's not his fault. he is not the second best player for nothing.

i hope i will keep this level (i will if i keep doing few faults).

we will see in miami.
