I liked the old rules. Opponent serving in the middle of the serving field or even in the corner is very annoying and I will do it to anyone who's doing that to me.

It must feel good to be the new moderator and be able to change the rules as it suits your game plan. Stuey didnt make that rule for no reason, and its a known fact that the new mod likes to use this option "when he is in trouble" during a match.

milos, if you read carefully the rule 10-c), you'll see that actually TTennisfan didn't change the rule, it's still the same...

Try to bear with him as it's his start here as organizer, but don't hesitate to mention further trouble, if they happen...

i'll just addapt to this new rule, but this is definitly not the place he was standing in a match against me. but like i said before, it is not the serve itself that's bothered me, but the fact that he was indeed breaking the rules (that were actaually current at the time of play).

however, now that i know this is the new rule, i'll simply addapt to it, it won't be too much trouble preparing for it...

ok, i know i'm just repeating myself here, but the new change of rules suits only the lesser skilled players, and the allowance of the cornered serve is simply an adjustment to needs of some people here.

i had the same problem in my nation's cup match against dementieva today.

i want someone to explain to me, how can it be fair to allow the type of serve that puts my player out of the screen??? then when i receive, there is no way i can read the serve when i first need to search for my player and drag him back into the screen??

i'm posting a picture of our match and hope to hear some opinions from other players. and please can someone tell me is this what you call "no more than half " as the new rule said???

Image

in my opinion it was all together better to forbbid this type of service at all, then to have this discussion all over again, or maybe i'm just the obnly one having this discussion??

I just have a suggestion to ManuToo, allow that we can't serve completly at the corner, for the next version.
thx! this will help.

Yeah I thought about it too. For online matches, the player shouldn't be allowed to serve from this position at all. It should be implemented in the game, at least in Fair mode (it's called "Fair" after all). The position that TTennisfan showed on his screenshot as marginal should be the furthest position the played could go to when serving.

BTW in that Milos screenshot it clearly looks like the other player was breaking the rules.

EDIT: The TTennisfan screenshot I was talking about somehow disappeared from this thread but we all know that the player wasn't even standing in the middle of the service field.

For the next update, it won't be possible to go more far than 40% of the distance to the corner (so a bit less than half), in Fair & Tourney modes.
On the screenshot above, the server is clearly at around 60% of the distance...
