changing player stats world tour

How can I change my players stats and keep them applied to world tour?
I made some changes in tenis.in to Roger Federer stats since I feel they more closely match him in real life.
They work for exhibition match, but when I try to start new world tour with him, he doesnt have new stats just old ones?
I am using Sams patch also.
Can i change stats for world tour mode?
