Try to change in Tennis.ini line in:

[Menu]
CustomHud = Hud_xxx

For example set it to:

CustomHud = Hud_RG

If it has "//" in front of "CustomHud", just delete "//"

Re: Sam's ATP Megapatch 2012 Edition FINAL VERSION

Postby wjdygert » 16 Jan 2013, 22:36

I'm not sure if this question should be in here or some broader forum. I'm playing with Sam's Patch, nothing else. Anyway I've now come up against three players with very suspicious ratings. During a career I played, 2005 or so had Canas with several areas rated 100 or just near 100. I beat Nadal fairly easily, but Canas was impossible without lowering the difficulty (which I didn't mind since it would have been entirely unrealistic to have Canas a near-perfect player). Is this some kind of joke on Canas's doping?

And now during a 2012 single year game, I've run into Fognini with Djokovic-like ratings. I'll admit that I'm not completely familiar with Fognini's game, but that's because he's been a non-entity in any matches of consequence that I've seen him in. Why would his ratings allow him to have Djokovic-like abilities?

Finally, and most oddly, I've just seem a guy named Narayanaswamy win Indian Wells in the same season as the Fognini issue. His ratings looked a lot like the 05 Canas, lot of 100s. I've never even heard of this guy. The ATP site has a guy with the same name, but it says he's from India, not USA as the game says. It sort of ruins the sim element of the game when some nobody is given fantastic stats.

Are these mistakes? Are they from the original game or Sam's mod? Is it easy for users to change player stats?

Ah, so Canas might be Manu's little joke?

And just so I don't cause you any confusion, I'm NOT using the FINAL VERSION of your patch. I'm still on the version that was available immediately prior to the FINAL VERSION. So I apologize if these issues were already taken care of with the latest release.

Also, if you like feedback on your players, I just played against Gasquet in 2012. I enjoy watching him play in real life, but I'm the first to admit that his game has significant flaws. I would recommend making his backhand a little less consistent, his forehand a little less powerful and his net game a little less efficient. He beat me (Ferrer) in straights at Indian Wells, and I only started to compete when I attacked his backhand rather than his forehand (!). This happened just after I had beaten Federer at Acapulco fairly comfortably with the exact same settings.

Federer playing at Acapulco actually brings up another point. Is there any way to program which tournaments players choose beyond the point level? Federer would never choose clay over hard (Dubai in this case) when equal points are available. Incidentally, Nadal chose Dubai. But that's entirely consistent with his odd scheduling choices. lol

Regardless of these issues I've brought up, the mod is still incredible. And thanks for the quick reply!

wjdygert,
Well yes exactly, I just checked and the issues you mentionned have been corrected in the final version. Now that I think about it, I played against Fognini (with Raonic) and he wasn't better than in real life as I was beating him comfortably (maybe something like 6-2). Same problem with the other player was corrected (he had his rankings well too high in players.ini).
The rest of the things you mentionned are all corrected in the final version I think. Because Gasquet has maybe something like 83% in 2013 for forehand power and his backhand consistency is not amazing. And I have not seen Federer choose Acapulco over Dubai recently in my game so you might want to retry again with the latest version (in which players ranked higher than 4rth don't even participate to Acapulco) ;)
Any other suggestions/feedbacks are welcome!

I'll download the latest version now. Thanks for the clarification!

And Federer was ranked fifth going into Acapulco btw. I had won Qatar, Australia and Santiago while he had gone out to Verdasco (!) in the round of 16 in Australia. Maybe your system was in my edition? He had also played at Marseille.

For some positive feedback, your 2012 Davydenko was right on. He gave me a scare early on, but fatigue killed his consistency pretty quickly. His 2013 ratings will have to be higher if he maintains his form from Qatar though. Also, playing as Ferrer, I initially would have suggested making his forehand more powerful and his backhand less consistent/precise. My best shot would be short accelerations from my backhand whereas my forehand wouldn't get me many winners. But I recently went from average auto-positioning and average controls to zero auto-positioning and elite controls and suddenly my backhand short acceleration is worthless if I don't have lots of time to set it up. The forehand is now my strongest shot, just like in real life. So good job with Ferrer!

wjdygert,
In the final version there are only few ATP 250 and ATP 500 that the top 3 play (such as Doha, Dubai, Rotterdam and others). So just download it because it seems that you are bringing up very old issues that have been corrected. This is the point of a new version ;) Don't worry for the 2013 version I'll try to make him better for sure.
For Ferrer, yes as he is my favorite player I worked a lot to make his stats perfect ;) (I worked alot on all players stats but a little more on his)

I got Tennis Elbow as a birthday gift from my girlfriend back in October and immediately downloaded your patch. (Seeing a Federer-Nadal match from your patch on Youtube was the reason I wanted the game at all.) Were there updates between then and the FINAL VERSION? I've been checking the thread pretty compulsively every day to see if anything new is out.

Do you prefer Ferrer to Nadal? Nadal's my favorite to watch by far, but I play with Ferrer for more of a challenge and because I have a Napoleon complex and like to see other short men do well. lol I like Ferrer's game, but I suspect he'll never beat the top four. I'm hoping for some Ferrer-Nadal finals in Sao Paulo and Acapulco. A less-than-100% Nadal is probably Ferrer's best chance for a top four win, and the first set of last year's Barcelona final was already pretty close.

Edit: Just wanted to clarify that I've been using version 2.0 of your patch. Also, I downloaded the FINAL VERSION. I see Data (1) and Data (2) folders. Does the FINAL VERSION patch work with the second install method version of the original mod (this is the install method I have)? If so, should I be doing something with those other Data folders?

wjdygert,
Im really glad that you enjoy the patch :) No I did not release anything between 2.0 and final one.
I don't like Nadal at all
Thats unfortunate if youre on the 2nd method because I released the final version with the 1st method, but you can still unpack the pak04 files with QPed and put them in their respective folders

Hello Sam great Mods by the way absolutely love it. Is there any chance in the future you could do like Dilima did and include an installer for your mods? It makes it so much easier to install.

Sam

The patch is just awesome. Thank you very, very much!!! You have done a great job. I really enjoy playing this game! :applause:

Just two things: I changend the outfits to the indian wells outfits. It works, but why is the Nadal-outfit from Indian Wells not in this patch?

And can I change the scoreboard, when I play offline matches in the training club? For example I play Federer-Nadal, but no matter on which court I play, I always have the wimbledon scoreborad. Is there a posibility to change that?

Sorry if this question was already asked, but I read many sites in this thread and couldn't find an answer...

Thanks in advance!
