First of all, I want to thank Neeky for the tutorial about how to stick the left hand on the racquet for a 2h backhand..it was really really helpfull and it work really really nice :D

Second, I want to ask him if we wants to improve Tsonga's forehand in 2 ways:
- to make the player jump after hitting the ball as Tsonga does very very often; especially the right foot should be modified since it's too sticked to the ground
- to make it faster; IMO is too slow for Tsonga..doesn't show his aggressiveness

About that, that's what I tried to do about the backhand: to make it look powerfull, fast and aggressive (AKA Tsonga :) )...I'm pretty satisfied with the result I have to say; hope you are as well

Comments, suggestions...Going to put the link tomorrow morning

Nice work, once again ;)
About his FH, my first try was a jumpy one, but with the sweet spots, I had to lower the stroke's heights therefore "ground" him. I'll see what I can do to keep the sweet spot and to have him jump too. If Sam and you asks for it, I guess, I'll have to do it

Great..looking forward to it

Sweet spot is OK here

For the slice backhand, I think the one I did for Berdych suits him well, however the timing it doesn't work so well..I'll see tonight what I can do

Next Ferrer's Backhand

Don't know yet what stance should I use; he uses almost at the same frequency the open, the closed and the neutral stance...what do you suggest ?

Yess Ferrer's bh!!! Really good idea :) Well in my opinion Lucian the normal stance would be ok, I mean by that right foot on the left, left one covering it on the right what do you mean by neutral stance though?

This one:

I think I'm going to do a semi-open stance as the one you can see in the picture

I think you are right yeah :) maybe you can try his serve after (nothing really looking like it ingame plus we can try completing his full set to make a perfect top 5 set )

Hi. I decided to fix up the Nadal forehand, making the preparation faster and more accurate I think:) Also, I made his Flat Forehand, and with it, I thought of quite an exciting idea. Manutoo, would it be possible at all to have two different styles of forehands for one player? The way I imagined this being possible would be mapping a certain animation to a certain stroke type. Eg : Strike 1 (Top Spin) would be his overhead swing, and the Strike 1+2 Would be his flatten out shot around his shoulder (similar to the way when u press 'Strike 2 (slice)' button the animation changes). Would this be way too complicated to do? Because it would make the world of difference for the animators, plus it would give us a chance to vary our shots slightly depending on the ball. Please consider this, I would think you could use the same procedure you used when creating a different animation for pressing the slice key. :D

Jono4Sure,
it's not too complicated in the game engine, as it's already done with the slice ; the problem is to have all the animations done... (for the little history : TE2009 was initially released only with 1 FH, 1 1H-BH, 1 2H-BH, 1 slice BH & FH ..! :) )

Hi Jono...you have removed the video as I can see...anyway, you're right...Nadal has 2 forehands: one for the top spins, good for the normal ground strokes and one flatter which is for winners.
Good idea to make separate animations for button 1 and button 1+2
Manutoo, you can do that exactly like you suggested about the return stances (and volleys eventually). I know we don't have animations for that but we can easily put the same animation as it is now for both strokes; that until we create a new one which should have the same preparation but a different follow through so in this way it will look good ingame if we decide at the last moment to change the stroke. Sounds easy to done, isn't it ? :)
Same thing could be done about the backhand.
Something like putting in the same playermaleXX folder the two separate anim files; automatically when we choose one forehand, it uses as well the other one.

@jono4sure

I asked you once about you improving your volley animations...not exactly the animations but the sweet spots to make them more controllable ingame. I think they're great..the forehand volley in particular looks better than mine I have to say...what do you say ?

i actually came with that idea a long ass time before lol, but Manu said it would be too much work

but... this time he didn't say it was impossible, does this mean you're about to try it? it would make the game perfect.

Yes, thats exactly what I was thinking Lucian! :D For now we can have the same for both slots for those characters we don't have two separate animations for, then as we make them, we can add them in. What I also wanted to say was Manutoo, I know you are planning on connecting the forehand animation to the return stance, so that we can finally have different return stance animations per character, which is extremely exciting. However, if we do this, it might make it very difficult for the whole two different forehand animations thing to work. My solution would be to tie the return stance to the serve animation rather than the forehand, so that the serve animation determines the return stance animation (as the serve will remain one animation). Just an idea:)

Btw, Lucian I'm really sorry I remember you asked about the volleys ages ago, I m definitely gonna fix them up, it's next on my things to do. However, it won't be for a while, as I have exams now:(:(
