so i figured out how to get custom shirts in the game, but I want to know if I'm allowed to change shirts 1-18?

can I just replace shirt01 with a different custom shirt01, or do shirts 1-18 have to remain in the game?

Yup, you can replace the existing outfits without problem.
If you play online, only you will see the changes, though.
