Hi, i am new 2 diz game but my bro taught me how to play and mod or edit, but I can only edit thoz 2D Courts in TE2009.

In TE2011, how do you edit the 3D Courts, is it possible?

As far as I know, the 3D court cannot be modified at this time if I am not mistaken, we can only change its looks like color, texture but remodeling it is not yet possible. This is the reason why I am not doing any mod at this time, so far I am not looking for way to modify it because I am already satisfied with the way the 3D court looks like as well as the surfaces. I think allowing the 3D court to be remodels means another programming scheme for him.

It's not possible & never will be possible to edit the existing 3D courts' architecture.
It's possible to add new 3D courts, though, but as I didn't provide any explanation, it's currently not easy to do so... ':D
A quick & short introduction : game engine can load .3ds file for the courts.

Glad to hear that its possible to load .3ds. Manutoo, any plan of sharing us explanation how? I know players here can follow your instructions, some I guess have programming knowledge, some can do 3D modelling. I think it would be another breakthrough to add 3D courts by the players themselves.

Ok, a quick explanation :
1- You can build the stadium around "Data/Models/Ground.3ds" (but don't include the ground object in your court) ; that should help you get the basic size of the surrounding layout

2- the stadium must be separated in 4 parts : front, left, right & back ; each part is separated in several levels, normally 3 for outdoor, and 4 for indoor ; each part must be 1 object ; objects are named like this :
Crt_B1 = 1st floor of the Back
Crt_F3 = 3rd floor of the Front
Crt_L2 = 2nd floor of the Left
Crt_L1 = 1st floor of the Right
and so on...
1st level should be about 4-5 meters high, 2nd about 5-6m high, and 3rd everything else (4th level behind the roof) ; outdoor stadium total height is about 20m, so 3rd level is about 10m.

3- you should use only 1 texture for the whole stadium

4- seats are separated objects named : SeatA, SeatB, SeatC
A = 1 full seat (so people should seat in the middle of it)
C = 1 seat with only the back part (so people should seat in front of it)
B = 4 seats together with only the back part (so people should seat in front of it)

5- all ads are grouped in 1 object named "Sign"

6- Speed & Time Boards are named BB_MatchTm & BB_ServSpd for the Back ones ; BF_ for the Front ones ; each board is 1 object composed only of 1 rectangle on which will be drawn the Match & Serve Speed
7- Try to Never use Mirror around X Axis (it seems all 3ds Max are kinda bugged when they export it)

That covers all the bases, I guess... :)

Hi
You gotta be kidding me with those directions!
Are we now aloud to edit the indoor stadium?
Can you change that skybox file to a non repeater file.

solarisaint1,
what's wrong with the explanation ?
You still cannot edit the Indoor court.
You can edit this file "Data/Models/SkyBox01.3ds" to change the sky of the outdoor court, tough.

Hi
Everytime i try to edit any of your 3ds files the game won't launch, I don't know if it's a file permission thing or a solarisaint booby trap.

Hello Manutoo,
Thanks for the quick explanation,
Somehow I figure out how those front, back etc. things are because I did four boxes representing four sides of the court and it loads on my TE2011. My concern is I want different texture for the stadium. I know that there are default texture mapping in TE2011, but that is of course different from customized 3D court. Any hint of how to do the new mapping, just to make life for us easier :)

solarisaint1,
I guess : either your .3ds exporter doesn't work correctly, or you save another kind of file but forcing the .3ds extension which actually doesn't export anything.

jesp8000,
nothing special about the texture mapping.
Just use 1 texture only.
Name it like you want but with 8 characters maximum, and put it in "Data/Models/Textures/Stadium/" or a subfolder depending of the court type ; you can change the Subfolder using the "Skin" parameter in the GameSys.ini .

solarisaint1, you already edited your message, but I think I remember what you wrote, so I can answer : yes, you should be able to edit all the .3ds files available in the .pak file, and if there's some trouble, it's likely related to your exporter or the way you use it.
Try to read the "System.log" when the game refuses to start, and look for "Error" & "Warning".

Hello Manutoo,
I opened the SkyBox01.3ds in Max and noticed that its size just fit the ground.3ds. Is it really that small? I wonder why its that way? Is that mean, it is automatically been scaled up upon loading in the game? Also, I noticed that whenever I test my 3ds in the game, the objects that is not covered by my court seems to have some sort of repetitive image as it changes locations. Any way to solve this? I believe that covering the whole court with my own objects will eliminate this repetitive thing, but up to how extent?

Manutoo, this is just continuation of my previous post. I attached two screenshots in here. My customized stadium is just a mock-up just to make sure that everything will be loaded as planned. Actual structure will still be made. I am just wondering why there is some sort of clipping on the front side of the court especially when the camera mode is 3rd person or just zoomed in all the way. But when zoomed out all the way or using the camera mode where we can see the whole stadium, there is no clipping. Please refer to the attached screenshots. Your help will be appreciated here, I spent already couple of hours figuring out why clipping occur and I dont want to do stadium modeling unless I resolved that. You can see in sshot1 that clipping occur and in sshot2, no clipping at all. Thanks in advance.
